Based on Look Inside sample, there's lots of great content, however, the book is let down by poor editing and layout.

RIP OFF! RIP OFF!!! So the mo-mo who "edited" this book simply cut, paste, and (poorly) formatted a variety of Wikipedia entries on synthesizers and synthesis and proceeded to compile said articles into book format! What a complete rip-off! this is LITERALLY a compilation of Wikipedia articles on synthesizers and synthesis freely available to all. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

This is a great book for understanding how synths came to be, and how they are still evolving. Has information on LFO's, and pretty much anything else you want to know.

A well-stocked information compendium. More of a reference than a read.

Disappointed with this book, very brief info and appears to be ALL sourced from Wikipedia, what a nerve!!! Ok if you want all the info in one place and in print, how reliable it is, is negotiable. One of the first things said in colleges and uni is don't quote Wikipedia because it's not a published piece of work so has no basis of credibility. I bought this to use in an essay, but I don't think I can now. I feel like I've been robbed by a flim flam man. Real shame.
