Vesper Cat Tree, High Base, Walnut, 52045

Was intrigued with this lovely cat perch, read every review, added it to my wishlist, 2 days later price dropped to 87 and I had to go for it. Arrived today and I just finished putting it together. IT LOOKS GREAT! And I'm 64, female and partially disabled - this isn't hard to put together! Took me approx 30 mins.The hardest part is unpacking it all, comes very well packaged. Just relax, go slow and enjoy it. Some tips: 1) Put aside the directions and just watch the video on YouTube. 2) Keep in mind that on the 1st step, you're putting the box together upside down! 3) Get your multi-head screwdriver out - it's much easier than the included tool for a lot of it. 4) Go slow, hand-tighten until you're sure things are properly aligned, then tighten with the tool. My unit doesn't wobble at all, it's very snug and secure. Regarding the so-called horrible smell, there's no horrible smell. There is a slight odor of the natural sisal rope (plant fiber) used to wrap the legs. That's it. I'm sensitive to everything under the sun and this doesn't bother me or my kitty at all, and it will prob dissipate in the next few days anyhow. You could put it on your porch or in your garage a few days if the smell of natural sisal gets to you. Overall, this furniture is even better quality than expected. Love that it can be wiped down and the cushions washed or even replaced. (btw, cushions aren't pieces of carpet, but super plush & cushy) Love the modern look. Much easier to put together than expected. Taller and sturdier than expected. My Maine Coon mix has circled it a few times and rubbed on it, must try kitty treats ;) Sandy Claws came early for him today =D (He's 13.5 lbs and fits great in the box) FOLLOW UP 12/9/16 Some things that helped get my cat loving this even more: 1. He liked it much better on carpeting than in the primo place by window that had no carpet. It's more stable and I think he likes being in the living room overseeing us, rather than further away. He is now the master of all he surveys. 2. Like another commenter suggested, I removed the metal bracket and dangly rope toy. He now has more clearance to jump up and down from the top level now, and no worries to me about him getting hurt on that metal piece. He was pretty blah about the balls anyhow, he'd rather be eviscerating a stuffed rat toy. 3. I removed the little round sisal mat from the 2nd level on top of the box and replaced it with a 2nd mat just like the one on the first level. This gives him a much more secure surface for bouncing up and down from the top level, more area for his claws to grip, Vesper V-Plush, Replacement Part for V-High Base (52045) Scratching Pad, 11.2" x 15.2", Walnut and he now has one more place for snuggles there, too. This truly is one of the best cat trees currently on the market. Many of the aesthetically-focused contemporary cat trees lack real scratching surface, but the sisal poles on this one are pleasing to the cats without being an eyesore. The exterior surface is solid, and the fabric is removable, so cleaning this tree should be easy. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the assembly of this product went smoothly and resulted in a solid cat tree. I have a lot of experience with IKEA furniture, and the mechanisms used are much like those in many IKEA products. It is quite easy to put together, but if you are IKEA averse it might not be for you. The parts were a little more complex than my Petco-brand shearling covered tree, but the Vesper is far sturdier. I was worried that the longer pole (made by combining two separate pieces) would be wobbly, as I have had that problem no matter how much I struggle to tighten the Petco tree, but the Vesper is extremely solid. We have three large and very active male cats, and even with their jumping on and off every level of the tree and climbing up the side of it it doesn't wobble or fall. They love the scratching poles, the little hideaway box (which has openings on two sides, amazingly important for multi-cat households), and even the included toy. I am very pleased with this new line, and I hope it will encourage even cat owners with selective tastes and limited budgets to give their cats scratching and climbing options.

I have a large three and half yard but unfortunately I also live on a relatively busy highway currently, so my cat doesn't get to go outside (with supervision) much. So I figured he'd enjoy the V-High base with vertical space and height and all. First of all the tree is really nice and the rope wrapped around the poles smell really nice. I read reviews saying they had to air out their house, but in my case I didn't have to. The only part with a vaguely bad smell was the circular mat on top of the box (I sniffed it to see what material it was lol), but that's only if you get your nose right up on it. It does wobble a bit if my cat jumps on it rather vigorously but is steady overall. He'd really have to try to knock it over and he's a pretty big cat (not fat, just really big, around 11 pounds). He also fits just right curled up in the box and fits fine on the top platform, so if you have a smaller cat you'll be fine in that area. The picture is a little misleading however, because it's mirrored and the first platform is not long enough for cats to jump on it and into the box. Your cat(s) will have to jump directly in from the floor. My cat does not seem to care, but it's kind of an unfortunate design choice that was not accurately reflected in the provided image. Also, the rope color is a little more green tinted than it is in the photo and when you twist them in, they can scrape off the finish of the wood (you can't see it because it's covered up by the bottom of the pole so I'm not that beat up about it lol). I took off a star for those inaccuracies. Honestly makes me not want to buy from this company again unless I see the product IRL, because who knows what other discrepancies there are with the picture and product online? Assembly: Instructions were a little confusing but doable. There's videos on Youtube that show someone putting together the regular V-base and assembly is pretty much the same for both in the beginning. You might want to have someone help you as you do it especially if you're like me and could barely lift the box lol! It's also easier to put in the screws when you have another set of hands to hold the bronze screws from moving (you'll see). All you need is the allen wrench that's included and you're good to go. It's nothing to be intimidated about, took me about 40 minutes (mostly pondering the instructions). All of the parts needed were present, so no problems with that. Overall, me and my cat really do enjoy it and it was worth the purchase but the picture inaccuracies kinda pissed me off (really need to get that together), thus the four stars. It's a pretty piece of furniture and not ugly like most cat trees are (that gray, dingy, stained off-white color...or brown or zebra, almost equally as bad lol). My 9yro sister also enjoys it, she's currently using it as a Littlest Pet Shop house with cardboard ovens, couches, and everything while my cat bats them off hahaha. Not sure I'd recommend to a friend, but it definitely works me and my cat! This review sounds a bit too negative, so I wanted to include that it is a good product and better than what you'll find most places. My cat enjoys looking out the window, sleeping, and playing on this tree (actually uses the rope toy). We have a lot of fun with it overall and I'm still not over how pretty it is, thanks for saving me from super expensive gross carpet by making this product available!

Der VESPER High Base Kubus in Walnuss hat mich angesprochen – und schon beim Auspacken habe ich gemerkt, dass die Qualität stimmt. Positive Aspekte * Top-Qualität, fühlt sich nach Möbel an: Das war die größte Überraschung. Die Qualität der Holzplatten und die Art der Verschraubung sind wirklich super. Das fühlt sich nicht nach einem billigen Bausatz an, sondern nach einem stabilen Möbelstück. IKEA und Co. können sich da echt eine Scheibe von abschneiden. Das Ding steht bombenfest und wackelt nicht. * Sorgfältige Verpackung: Schon beim Auspacken merkt man, dass hier Wert auf Qualität gelegt wird. Jedes Teil ist separat und sorgfältig in Schutzfolien verpackt. Da kommt nichts verkratzt oder beschädigt an. * Aufbau kinderleicht: Die Anleitung ist super kurz und verständlich. Selbst wenn man sonst zwei linke Hände hat, sollte der Aufbau kein Problem sein. Alles ist logisch, und die Verschraubung ist sehr durchdacht. * Optik und Design: Der Walnuss-Look sieht modern und unauffällig aus. Man muss das Ding nicht verstecken, es passt wirklich gut in moderne Wohnungen. * Die Katzen lieben es: Am Ende des Tages muss es den Katzen gefallen, und das tut es. Die Höhle wird gerne zum Schlafen genutzt, und die verschiedenen Ebenen werden zum Beobachten und Klettern akzeptiert. Neutrale Aspekte * Die Kratzmatte: Die Kratzmatte, die dabei ist, ist okay, aber man sollte vielleicht damit rechnen, dass diese bei intensiver Nutzung irgendwann ersetzt werden muss. Aber sie ist leicht abnehmbar, was gut ist. Negative Aspekte * Keine: Die Qualität, der Aufbau und die Optik haben mich absolut überzeugt. Es gibt nichts zu meckern. Bewertung und Fazit Der VESPER High Base ist ein Volltreffer für alle, die ihren Katzen etwas Gutes tun wollen, ohne dass die Wohnung sofort nach Tierbedarfsladen aussieht. Die Verarbeitungsqualität ist für den Preis hervorragend. Man bekommt hier ein langlebiges, schönes Möbelstück. Absolute Kaufempfehlung!

Si vous êtes comme moi et trouver que tous les arbres a chat sont laid et bien avec celui-ci j’ai trouvé un très beau compromis pour que mon chat puisse s’amuser sans que sa structure de jeu ne jure trop avec le décore! La structure est solide et vraiment jolie, la finition est vraiment de qualité. Nous l’avons depuis 2 mois et pas l’ombre d’un bris encore. Mon chat passe le plus claire de son temps dans sa structure de jeu a dormir et jouer. Un peu cher comparé d’autres type d’arbres a chat sur le marché mais je trouve que la dépense vaut le coup pour la qualité d’esthétique du produit et de la qualité en général de celle-ci! Je recommande:). Edit juillet 2024: après 3 ans d’utilisation journalière l’arbre a chat a toujours l’air neuf sauf pour le cordage que mon chat de 12lb vient de finir par briser après une utilisation intensive plusieurs fois par jour. Fallait s’y attendre après 3 ans d’utilisation et le cordage se remplace très facilement et a faible coût. Cette arbre la vaut le prix payer! J’en recommande un autre pour le rez-de-chausser. Ne perdez pas votre argent a payer pour des arbres a chat en tapis qui s’usent a vitesse grand V. Cette arbre a chat est de loin le meilleur que j’ai acheté depuis les 15 derniers années!!

Cat condo came with an instructional sheet on how to assemble, but even without it, it was definitely easier to assemble in comparison to any Ikea furniture. There was no visible tilt nor slant in the condo structure after assembly, and my scaredy-cat has taken to it in no time! Wood pieces arrived in good shape and well laminated, the carpet patches are rightly fluffy, but scratch poles are made of seagrass instead of sisal rope – hence the strong scent of seagrass now in our living room.

Facile d’assemblage (outils inclus), les matériaux utilisés respire la qualité et la durabilité. Les coussins, bien qu’annecdotique sur la photo, se revele etre un tres confortables, et pratiques. Le choix des couleur depends en grande partie de vos gouts et de votre décoration interieur, mais comparativement aux autre arbres a chat « jetable » et souvent en « moquette » noire blanche ou grise auquel nous avions à faire; celui-ci paraît indestructible ...

Super arbre à chat que mon chaton a adopté alors que je n'avais pas terminé de le monter ! Grâce à la plaque du bas suffisamment large et aux poteaux de sisal, il est très stable. Il est arrivé dans les temps, dans un carton extrêmement lourd, et chaque élément était emballé et protégé comme un diamant, couche de mousse, de plastique etc. (peut être même un peu trop si l'on parle écologie... Mais au moins il est arrivé nickel). Assez simple à monter, surtout grâce aux autres commentaires qui précisent que la petite cabane se monte à l'envers ! Tous les petits outils sont dans le carton, besoin de rien d'autres pour le montage. Les coussins sont HYPER DOUX et MOELLEUX...!!! On pourrait dormir dessus c'est incroyable ! En plus il paraît qu'ils passent à la machine (je n'ai pas essayé.) Ils sont scratchés au meuble. Cela tient extrêmement bien ! Ah et surtout enfin un arbre avec une plate forme assez grande ! C'est tjrs des petits trucs riquiqui ! Seul le petit rond/grattoir n'est pas très utile... Il n'y a pas suffisamment de place sur la cabane pour que mon chaton y fasse ses griffes mais cela fait une petit deco. En parlant de décoration, c'est le premier arbre que je vous qui a l'air fun meuble comme disait un autre commentaire, vraiment il est très beau ! C'est un élément de décoration en soit.. Pas comme les arbres traditionnels en moumoute que l'on retrouve en lambeaux partout dans la maison ! Et mine de rien, pour 120€ je ne le trouve pas si cher. Un arbre d'un mètre vingt coûte extrêmement cher en animalerie et sont dans la catégorie des arbres traditionnels peu décoratif et souvent très peu stable de ce que j'ai pu constater ! En prime les petites boules de jeux, que min chaton adore ! Certains se plaignent de les avoir reçues blanches, au contraire je les voulais de cette couleur donc nickel, mais je ne sais pas comment se fait la répartition, c'est sûrement aléatoire... Vraiment top qualité ! Je l'ai depuis presque un mois, il est tjrs comme neuf comme s'il sortait du carton !
