does the job.barely though.because at lower speed sanding stone kicks and to avoid it I had to increase the speed but thenhaving it adjustable defeats the purpose.same with cable attachment.3 stars.

This three inch bench grinder is sold by at least three different distributors under different names with the exact same design. I got about 15 years worth of use out of the one that I bought. One day when I went to use it, the plastic shaft on the potemtiometer under the speed control knob broke. The plastic shaft just disintegrated.I took the thing apart and looked at it. Eventually, I figured out that it needed a replacement switch: Carbon Potentiometer B500K WH138-4 Ohm Single Linear With Switch, which is a part you can buy for about $1.50 each on ebay.You would think that whoever is manufacturing these things wouldn't be using such crappy parts, but maybe 15 years was all this tool was ever designed for.
