GreenBrokers C1159 40Ltr Organic All Purpose Potting Compost Enriched with Nutrients-Expands

As advertised.
I've read reviews saying that theirs did not expand to 10 litres. All you have to do is use hot water instead of cold and it expands right before your eyes! I put the brick in a 15L bucket instead of leaving it in the bag because it was too flimsy to stand upright. For health and safety reasons for using hot water instead of cold water using a bucket is also better. Plus once the medium has absorbed all the water it's easier to get on with your projects - once it has cooled down of course.I broke my brick into half, there's a seam down the middle that makes it easy. This also means that you can use the amount you need and store the rest away for upcoming projects.I've used this to propagate seedlings and it's performing marvellously. Each plant has their own specific soil requirements and this can be used as an additive for a mix but do not expect that this is all you need for your plant to grow.

Plastic parts mixed up in soil...
It's a great idea to compress it in a block. I do share the same opinion as the others that the block could be pre cut to smaller sizes so you know how much you could use for a small/medium plant. I was very disappointed to find a lot of plastic bits in my soil! Disgusting... It's impossible to clean them up.

So convenient
This compost is great if you live in a tiny place and/or don’t have a garden. So compact and easy to store. If you add hot water the soil expands 10+ in size and mashing it up with an old fork sped things up. The only reason it loses a star is that I found random small pieces of hard plastic amongst the soil. Since we use plastic pots for plants I doubt it’s harmful to them but it gives a sloppy careless impression when it comes to the production line.

Has its uses, but if you can get non-dried compost
An okay product.Pros:It expands to much more, so you get a lot of compost for your money. It's great to use if you want something small and compact to keep until you need it.Cons:When you add the water, it's a nightmare getting it all to mix in. Very messy, and very dirty. Also, it really doesn't hold its water very well. Weeks down the line when you water your plants, the water can just run off and not mix well at all. My plants did okay, but if you can get normal compost then it's definitely better.

Good for home potting!
Great for home planting - I recently wanted to just pot one plant and followed the advice from another customer review just to cut off some of it and store the rest for later. It took me good 10mins to cut off a piece but it worthwhile because you can easily store the rest away and keep it for later. Once you add water it becomes good soil to pot your plants in.

Such a good idea! Really very useful
Such a good idea! Really very useful, I live in a flat and wanted potted plants this was a very good easy way of getting the compost sent to me without having to go to a garden centre and end up with a huge bag.. this was the perfect amount!

Most Definitely 'NOT' 10L AS advertised!
Initially very excited to try this... but alas this was short lived! Followed instructions exactly using 3 litres of warm water. Waited for more than 30 mins to ensure it was not going to expand any more. Measured with jug and disappointedly it is only just 5 litres! That is half the amount advertised. So in essence, you are led to believe you are paying for 10l when you only get 5l. Taking into consideration, humidity etc, 5 litres out is quite a lot less to say the least. My other order arrived at the same time, 5l product as measured. This confirms it is most definitely 5l not 10L as described.

Good, compact compost for cheap
I didn't use this compost all at once, instead hacking off small amounts to use in plant pots. It's difficult to tear apart dry as it's so dense, but manageable. Has worked very well for windowsill plants, grown from seeds, and it's a good amount of compost for the price while it's small size (like a squat hardback book) makes it super convenient to store. Have not tried pouring water directly into the sack it comes in, so can't comment on integrity there.
