Review: Super Relevant in 2021 - Moving from a physical to digital workplace without a proper framework has bought about countless collaboration problems within teams across the globe. We're still using offline techniques for online collaboration, which is hampering our team's ability to perform at a particularly high-level. This book clears up this issue by introducing a way of working with revolves around a teams self dicipline around ALIGNMENT. It's no longer about hanging out with the CEO or management team for a beer after work and earning brownie points - it's about collaboration, alignment and performance. This book sets out the framework needed to create this environment, as well as what you can do as a leader / project manager / employee / founder to make your mark and cultivate new, high-performing teamwork. Years ahead of it's time, this is a BEAUTIFUL book with amazing illustrations and artwork that I'm sure we'll look back on in 10 years time to be an international best seller. For £20 it's really a no-brainer. Bravo Stefano & co! p.s. looking forward to the online courses :) Review: Another great addition from the business model canvas team - I love the business model canvas and use it frequently in my professional work. High Impact Tools for Teams is another great addition. As with the canvas, there is a core framework (the team alignment map) and a series of practical exercises that hang off it. It's not quite as revolutionary as the business model canvas, and puts a lot of emphasis on the importance of psychological safety which is the flavour of the month at the moment (quite rightly). Well worth a read for new and experienced managers alike.

Practical guide from the Strategyzer team - though maybe too much to absorb without software tools
I'm a big fan of the Strategyzer series, made most famous by the "Business model canvas" but also "Value propositon design". This latest entry focusses on team dynamics and offers a wide array of tools that can be used either by managers to adjust how they communicate (e.g. guides on "nonviolent" confrontation) as well as teams (e.g. rituals for setting team performance norms). More so than the other books in the series, I'd say this one sits a little uncomfortably between; 1.) A book that you, a manager could read and use to improve your practice and 2.) A book that your whole team should read, drawing upon a standard vocabulary of these tools to build your team practice The reason I say it's uncomfortable is because sure, if you've got 5 people in your startup and you all read the book at the same time and show the same level of compliance to it, you could have a really good dynamic. But for most people working in a large corporate or institutional setting, the reality is that not everyone you collaborate with will be singing from the same hymn sheet. Moreover, a lot of companies these days are using software tools like JIRA, Slack, Miro, HighFive, Monday, Notion, etc. and these automate some of what's outlined in the book through more formal and automated processes. Useful, but not essential.

A must read for anyone involved in leading teams
Hugely insightful and effective. Like most things it’s common sense one you know it. I recommend it almost everyone I meet in the workplace

Bit disappointed
Have all the books in this series and this was the only one that disappointed. Felt it was a very long winded way of describing a few simple concepts, not rocket science. That said, I really love the other books in this series.

good for a first time manager.
This book is a great starting point if your fresh into a management role but its not a one stop shop. Its quite longwinded in place and having managed teams of between 5 and 90 members some of its practices wouldnt fit. But everything has its time and place and it comes with alot of resources tha would be useful to a fresh faced team manager.
