Sony case for HX90V is a winner
Before purchasing this case for my Sony camera, I had read numerous reviews of other, less expensive ones, most of which complained of poor fit, inaccessibility of USB port, not being able to flip up the view screen, etc. I decided to gamble on this one, assuming Sony would have designed the case to avoid all of these problems. Happy to say, the case is flawless! Fits perfectly, sturdily built, leaving access to all controls, and looking very professional. I would urge anyone with this camera (HX90V/RS1) to get this one. It attaches to the camera via a tripod-compatible screw, and the lens-and-viewscreen cover attaches with two heavy-duty snaps on the bottom. When in place, the cover affords excellent protection against scrapes and impacts; when removed, it makes shooting a breeze and tripod mounting simple. This little camera, loaded with features and great performance is worth the expense of buying the best.

I LOVE This Case
I LOVE this case! I'm particular about my camera cases. I don't want a cheesey case on my expensive camera, but I do want it to be functional. This case fits like a glove and protects all around the camera when closed. The front "unfolds" to expose the rear screen and lens areas. All functions can be operated while the case is on and in the open position. The fitting attached in the tripod opening without any problems, and my current tripod attaches to the case without any problems. The strap can be adjusted to a long strap for cross body wear, or shorter for around your neck. The back of the strap has a soft material so wearing it is not uncomfortable as the strap dose not scratch or cut you neck. The "leather" is better looking than some I've seen...I think it's still "pleather" but it has a nice feel and doesn't look cheap. The only draw back is that when the case is open, the front cover just "hangs there" by the attachment snap. I've lost the cover from larger 35mm cameras in just this same scenario ...I've pledged myself to remove it for extended use. I will be using the camera and case next week so if I run into any snags, I will amend my review. For now...I think it will work. If you are debating between brand x and the Sony, I think it's worth the little extra to get the name brand, and receive a case of quite good quality.

Love it! Great accessory for my little camera.
This is a terrific case. The cameras it protects are quite small and the little bit extra at the sides give me that something more to hold onto when I'm shooting. This case does not impede any of the functions of the camera, including the NFC touch to connect function on my DSC-HX80. You can still easily flip up the back panel and have easy access to all buttons, the pop-up flash and EVF on my camera model. I can attach my camera to a tri-pod without removing the case or strap. The strap is quite long and adjustable. I'm 5'8" and at it's shortest it falls mid-chest. At it's longest, I can wear it cross-body and it lands comfortably on my hip, about 5 or 6 inches below my waist, with plenty of slack for me to shoot without taking it off. It's also cute as heck in a stylish, retro way.

Solid Case
A solid case for my Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-HX80. Perfect fit and allows me to have my camera with me at all times without the need for a bag or extra jacket pockets. Would have liked a pocket in the case for holding an extra battery, maybe on the back panel. And the snap configuration is a little awkward. Other than that, it's the right case for this camera.

Don't bother with the generics, just get this OEM one!
I purchased the generic TARION PU Leather Camera DSLR Protective Case Bag Cover for Sony HX90 WX500 Coffee case (a black version, which for some reason is only available at Amazon.co.uk, purchased when I was in London). It was too big and clumsy and easily came off. I guess if you want this type of case, just go with the original OEM version. It is a nice perfect fit and seems durable. I guess this industry is not like smartphones where the knock-offs and off-shore generic brands are competitive and make better-fitting products.I like how this case has the two-parts and two ways to open up (from front or back), though sometimes I will admit it doesn't seem very secure and I wish there was a way to lock it in so it would be more secure, for say if you were taking a picture over a ledge, etc. Either way it's better than nothing and no product exists that does exactly what I was looking for. It is worth noting that the fact this case adds the two metals loops make this valuable for me since you can use neck straps with it. Also note that like many cameras and cases of this type, you cannot access the battery/SD card compartment with the case on. Why can't camera manufacturers in this range return to putting them on the side like I had on my Canon a long time ago?! :)
