Land Rover Series I, II & IIA (The Essential Buyer's Guide) Paperback – May 15, 2011

I bought this book because I am interested in possibly purchasing a Land Rover Series model."Don't judge the book by its cover" When I first received the book I was disappointed that it was rather thin & pamphlet like. For the price I expected something a little more substantial. I was worried that there wouldn't be much information in it.My fears were unfounded, the book has quite a bit of detail about Series Land Rovers. It provides invaluable information concerning ride & comfort quality, what to look for & what to watch out for when doing pre-inspections of possible purchases.The book also answers the "do you really want an old land rover" question. It tries its hardest to set realistic expectations of ownership.If you're looking into owning an early land rover, I recommend this book. While it appears rather small & thin, it does have an amazing amount of detail concerning Series I,II & IIA Land Rovers. Ownership, purchasing what to look for, what to watch out for, its all in this book.This book doesn't cover in depth repairs & troubleshooting. You'd need another book for that. However the book does describe possible problems & fixes.

A very handy and well thought out basic buyers guide if in the market to purchase a 'series' Land Rover. More on Chassis numbers in terms of model ID would be very handy in the next book update but apart form this, still a valuable read.

I have owned over 40 Land Rovers 1950-1978 in a span of 30 years. this is a good little book to tuck into the cubby box. Some good information. I passed it onto my son. He goes out to the Black Rock Desert, Nevada. He has been delayed a few times now but never stuck.

Good book, convinced me that buying a Land Rover Series is not for me! Probably saved me from making a hugely costly mistake!

The Essential Guides are all to a staid format. Information is therefore limited, and there's a lot that is repetitive. Don't waste your money; there are better books on the subject out there. It only got three starts because it was cheapish.

Nice photos but the size of and lack of content is amazing , not in a good way. Unless you are an absolute novice who knows nothing about landrovwrs or in fact any vehicle then I would look else wereshame

Wery good explonatione and a lot of greate tips for an beginner in land rover. Just wat i was needing to get it right the first time.

Very good book, wish I got it be for I bout a series1 Land Rover.

A great little book for any 'Landover enthusiast'.
