Scott is the master of the megaphone
Production of this video sucks. They tried to get all fancy, but it's so amateur 1978. Split screen? Really, come on? Two Slashes, two Scotts. Just plain stupid. You do get some good band history here thigh. Interviews and behind the scenes are cool, though I don't really want them in between every song.Do it for the kids is good, but tracks 1 and 3 aren't very good. Crackerman is done better than the original STP band. Illegal I has a pretty cool jam out with solos, but I wasn't sure what Scott was doing on the keyboards; Slash has cool solo in this song though. It's so easy is a wild performance (with a megaphone at the end and some scary looks and screams from Scott). Fall To Pieces is perhaps my favorite track here. With such a short setlist, I wonder if they left out a lot of songs or if they were just an opening band for someone else? Big Machine is a fun track. Set me free is just okay. Used To Love Her was weird, but hearing Scott, Duff, and Matt harmonize was cool. Slither was awesome live (Slash's guitar work is just amazing here). Sex Type Thing was just as good as any STP version of it (harder, darker, and wilder). Slither and Fall to Pieces are the heart of VR.Scott is the master of the megaphone. Duff really stands out as a strong foundation for this band. It's good to see and hear Dave Kushner live, which shows how much he contributed. Slash and Matt Sorum are great as usual. There's something special here, but as we know it would all self destruct. Scott looks a bit sickly here and it's hard to watch in some parts. Sad. Only five years later, they'd be broken up and Scott would be back with STP for a brief final goodbye. I also rated STP's reunion Alive in Windy City DVD four stars because it lacked the band fire this VR one has, but it has a level of comfort and ease among the band members that this perhaps doesn't have. The two VR covers of STP songs on this disc really outdo the original band, but despite "It's so easy" being a cool version here, the two GNR covers don't really compete with Axl's versions (only Slash and Myles can compete, and outdo, some of those originals), but maybe it's song choice. Scott doing GNR here was almost unnatural, though that's not to take away from his versatility. And to be fair, looking around on Youtube there are some great examples of VR doing GNR sounding better than what we have here in this one concert (one featuring Izzy on It's so easy and Scott sounding perfect on Patience).

A must for any Velvet Revolver fan!
Scott Weiland is one of my favorite front men ever and Slash...well, its hard to beat him for straight up rock n roll guitarists imo. I clearly remember the first time I heard Fall To Pieces on a local radio station, I immediately recognized the guitar work as Slash and once I heard Scott's voice, I was in awe.Unfortunately, I never got to see Velvet Revolver live so when I saw this DVD show up in purchase recommendations I was all over it. The video and audio quality are great and there are some cool editing effects. At the $10 or so I paid its an absolute bargain for any VR fan.

Great Live Performance DVD
Since I first heard the first album - Contraband - by Velvet Revolver I knew this "Supergroup" was going to be something special. I mean you can only expect greatness when you put the best members of GNR with one of the best frontmen of the 90's, Scott Weiland (of STP). Great live performance, solid and soaring with charisma. The only thing I've noticed about this band is that there has always been a bit of visible separation between Weiland and the boys from GNR. I suspect this was due in part to Weiland's inability to stay away from drugs. However I could be wrong. It just seems there is distance in the group. Maybe this is why they broke up after only two albums, albeit two of the best albums from any "supergroup" ever. Anyway, great video with sharp performances, band interviews etc. I would definitely recommend this.

ehh
This disc includes some great performances, the problem is the disc itself. It seems somewhat like a bootleg or maybe shot by some amatures. It was also released a few years after the band broke up. Makes you wonder why it was released at all. What is up with the girl talking about war every few songs. I guess we where all captivated by the mystery of Scott Weiland's hat. With all of that being said, I really did enjoy this disc. If you are a fan of G N' R/STP/ Velvet Revolver etc, this is inexpensive and you will enjoy it. You can just skip over parts of it.

In Top Form...VR ROCKS!!!
For those who were lucky to see VR in concert this dvd will bring back great memories. For those who were unfortunate to see VR this concert shows how awesome they really were. Don't listen to other reviews the editing is minimal. Doesn't distract from the groove of the show. Nor do the interviews. Picture quality is amazing feels like you're right there. So for those who are fans you already have this For the curious get it you won't be disappointed. With all the generic crap that's out these days, this is how it's suppose to be done. R.I.P. Scott...Miss You!

Great band, decent show, horribly made video...
The camera work is awful. The shots are either unintentional, out of focus or badly operated crane swoops. Very amateurish. The editing is god awful, and the sound mixing is subpar. That is a shame. This was a legitimately vital and relevant band. They aren't just a "supergroup" jamming and playing hits from the members' previous bands. VR made their own way. There is some allusion to that in this video, but the narrative is muddled by some "attempted art" as a blonde woman in military style regalia is shown speaking to some effect. I have both of VRs records. I wish this band could be shown in a proper light. It doesn't have to be the freakin 'Last Waltz' quality or anything, but SURELY something better than this attempt. God bless ya guys, especially Mr Scott Weiland, THE best frontman of the 90's.PS the set list leaves a little to be desired as well...oh well, at least they tried...ZP

Better Than Expected, Weiland Is The Man!!!
The sound quality turned out to be a lot better than I expected. Some of the video effects are cheesy and get to be pretty annoying at times when you're trying to simply watch the show, but all in all it's a great disc. I am a fan of VR but their best moments on this DVD are when they cover the STP originals. Definitely a buy!!!!!

Must own for VR fans 🤘🤘
I'm giving it 5 stars because I'm not bothered by the snippets in between songs and the video effects. But just be warned if that's not your thing, there are ALOT!! Great concert with a great song selection (pre Libertad) even has my favorite GNR song "It's so Easy" included. If your a VR fan you can't go wrong with this price ($15 at time of purchase)
