Terrific Read for all Ages!
I wanted to thank you for an incredible story of "pickle boy" I read a few pages every night to my boys and it sure got them to bed on time in order to hear the story. I enjoyed it very much too! we are looking forward to the next book that will hopefully tell us what happens to Danny, the scientist, who the voice is and other open hanging ideas mentioned. please let us know when the next book comes out or of any other book that you wrote or recommend. my kids don't usually like mysteries but yours was a great exception! We have already recommended your book to other kids.

A Mom's review -- I'm a fan
..."Before the fight, he drank a mouthful of that pickle juice. And this big, burly kid tried to fight him -- a mean kid with a posse. First he hit him with a huge baseball bat, and it broke into pieces. Then they hit him with a thick bicycle chain, and the parts of the chain went all over. And lastly, the kid tried his switchblade, which broke in half. Then the pickle kid delivered a light punch and it sent the kid flying across the street and smack into a street lamp! Now ordinarily, if the pickle kid had tried that, it would have had as much impact as a pebble on a jetliner. But with the pickle juice, success! The end of the bully and his buddies."Before I write my impressions of the book, I just wanted to tell you that my son wandered over to the computer and, when he saw what I was doing, rattled off the above commentary, spontaneously. This book is exciting for boys (I'm raising boys). What I liked about the book (as a parent) was the mystery of the prisoner. If I had to rate the book myself, I would give it four stars (not five) because the transition between Uncle Dan's stories and Tommy's life is a little cumbersome and repetitive... but then again I'm spoiled, because I just finished reading "Watership Down" to my family, and that's another book whose plot is carried by storytelling. However, since the book is for kids and my kids were WILD about the book while I was reading it to them (and afterwards) -- I must give it five stars. It's nice to read a book about a normal, healthy kid in a normal, healthy family.Parent note: some language: God's name, OMG, sucks, some !@#$%^&*... I edited it out as I read it to my family.

Got my 9 y/o too excited to sleep
It has been very difficult finding books that my 9 y/o son enjoys. Most are so boring that even I don't enjoy reading them. This book, recommended on Glenn Reynold's blog, changed all that. Just like a character in the book, he pleaded with me not to stop reading just because it was past his bed time. There were places in the book that he's clutching his pillow and jumping up and down with just too much excitement to contain. And this is the bad part. He started taking it to school to read. Now what was I suppose to do? He get's home from school and I'm giving him grief for reading ahead and "punished him" for it by reading from where we left off the night before so that his mom & I could keep up. Boy, I didn't see that one coming. He wasn't the only one interested in what was going to happen next. His mother was suffering the same dilemma as I.We ALL thoroughly enjoyed the book and are SO looking forward to another installment. It was just a joy to watch our son, finally, get so totally wrapped up in a book. Now THIS is the Joy of reading - when it wins out over TV, movies, video & computer games, youtube and everything else. Thank you Glenn for the referral and above all, thank you Mr. Bee for the magic.2 year follow-up:Yeah, a follow-up on a book. After 2 years and all the comics, movies, YouTube, and helpful suggestions on books by other Amazon members, when I ask him what we're going to read tonight he STILL is asking "The New Pickle Boy!!?? Is it out yet? Is it, is it, is it?!?" Get on the stick Jack and get my boy the next book! :-))ok, truth is I'm waiting for it too.

Action-packed story that's a great read for kids, especially boys who like superheroes
I read this book over the summer with my eleven-year-old son. We only read a few pages a night, which was fine at the beginning but as we got into the story more often than not my son was pleading to stay up later so we could read more. The book is action-packed with clear good guys and bad guys, and a heroic main character who is a likable kid that readers will want to cheer for. We are really hoping that there will be another Pickle Boy book released soon!

Good Old Fashioned Heroism
I enjoyed this book immensely - I am looking forward to a sequel. It is hard to find find a good book these days that has good old fashioned heroism and is palatable for children. That is exactly what Pickle Boy provides. This book avoids the trap of too many modern books which bring in extraneous matters, blur the line between good and bad and aim to advance negative philosophies. Here, Mr. Bee has done a fantastic job bringing a timeless cosmic tale into a dramatic and engaging small package. I heartily recommend it. And I look forward to the sequel!

I loved this book
I loved this book! Danny is super cool, fighting against major criminals! I like how the writer reveals the past only in the middle of the story. This book is very exciting and tense. Each time I had to put it down I was disappointed! When I continued reading I would get so caught up in Danny's adventures, that I would forget about the world around me! Jack Bee is such a good writer, and I was so upset when I realized that this story didn't end here! I can't wait till I get my hands on some of his other books!

Amazing read for all ages
This is really an amazing book. When one takes a look at the cover they assume that the book will be very childish. I was babysitting at someone's house when one of the children asked if I wanted to read the book. Although I doubted that I would enjoy the book, I began reading it just to make the kid happy. Sure enough as soon as I started reading, I was hooked. When i got home, I went and ordered the book as soon as I could so I could finish it. By the way, I was twenty one at the time when I read this book. I truly feel that it is a great book for both children and adults alike.
