Bose PM-1 Portable CD Player

Just like the one I needed to replace. Use it daily and works really well. Don't know what I am going to do when they are no longer available anywhere. Have one that needs repair, and not able to find someone that can repair it. Great Product.

I bought this item as used but rated by the sellor as in excellent condition. The player provided a rich and sonorous sound expected from Bose. It played any and all discs I attempted to use on the device. The only annoying attribute of this player is that the operating buttons are located on the top surface of the player making it very easy to inadvertently hit one of them and thus altering or shutting off the player. There are any number of ways to fix this problem. I feel fortunate to have found a used Bose in such good condition allowing me to save a considerable sum of money.

Yes it worked so well and I was excited to be a able to listen to books on cd's with others hearing it, until I dropped it getting out of the car, and now it doesn't work. So sad

What a marvelous machine. Really, seriously. It arrive on time and works like a charm. I can do gardening galore with this listening to my audio books.One must understand that when ordering this used, you must have a manual for operational purposes to get the most from your machine. Although the buttons are located conveniently on the top of the unit, Bose did NOT leave anything out here. To protect against accidentally hitting the buttons while playing a CD, you must turn the cd unit I've to the back side, locate the green switch that is clearly marked HOLD and turn it on. That holds the cd as its playing and the buttons in the front can be accidentally pushed and that HOLD button prevents further action until you take it off hold. Now when you aren't listening to it. You can also place it on hold to keep it from turning on while being touched, looked at, placed into a protective pouch.....to save the batteries from further wear while you are not using it.6/5/15Update. Really without a doubt one of the best Walkmans I have ever owned. However, I bought it used. It was described as "mint condition". I used it to walk or garden and kept it safe in a small protective pouch. I went to garden yesterday and it just wouldn't play. I use the hold button regularly to keep the batteries fresh. So I checked that out and it was still on hold. So I changed batteries to fresh ones just to check and same thing. The unit turns and registers a disc only by displaying "disc" and goes no futhur. I dropped it off at the local radio shop (an authorized Bose repair shop) to see if it's an easy fix.I bought it January 31st and here it is barely June 1st so it lasted about 4 months. I dropped it off for repair about June 4th. My hope is that whatever it is, it can be repaired without costing hundreds.I will post an update after.7/11/15I just received my Bose back. The shop had it about 5 weeks. It could not be repaired and the source of it not working could not be located. I am very disappointed because the four months that I did have it, I took care of it very gingerly, making sure it was in its protective pouch. After all it was more of an investment for the price I paid. I wanted to keep it safe always. Apparently that being said, even saying so the seller is not willing to refund my money. Only willing to look at it if I send it back to them. If an authorized Bose repair shop couldn't fix it, then how could the seller help to fix it? Additionally, why would I send it back to the seller after spending all that money buying it and not getting any assurances on getting it back? So the seller gets to keep my money AND the machine as well? That doesn't seem right....nor very fair at all. It worked 4 months almost to the day. I wrote a lovely review about it above when I received it and described clearly how well I gingerly took care of it. I am so dishearten about the sellers unwillingness to correct this. As I will be more then happy to send it back as long as I am assured a full refund.***BUYER BEWARE, there are many dishonest 3rd party sellers out there that will sell you a used product in "mint condition" and then will not stand by the product they sold to you with just four months of gentle use and METICULOUSLY well cared for....I am left with a product that doesn't work and out the money I should rightly get back if I returned the item.

It is perfect and works perfect. Does go thru a lot of batteries but listen to it all day long when I'm cleaning or doing laundry. Be sure to have it turned off or you go thru a lot of batteries. I listen to a lot of CD Books.

Frankly, I am used to seeing Bose as the pinnacle of sound technology. While I realize the day of the portable CD player is past I don't know whether I consider this particular product to be worth the price. One thing I immediately noticed is that CDs skip quite a bit in the player.

This is a gem,easy to see read window,The great feature is that you can control the volume from the unit.I use it to preform in large auditoriums and I control it from the stage.I do not trust sound men so this is perfect.I have used this for about three and a half years and have been pretty rough on it.I keps on ticking. I expect to get at least another three years use.Art

Very good high quality product, but over priced for what it is, a portable CD player, and a product made outside the U.S.A.

Having had a similar model for many years I knew how good the sound quality and reliability was. I purchasedthe used player as a back up to my original which has had many hours of use.
