The Silver Spoon Quick and Easy Italian Recipes

This is a terrific cookbook with authentic recipes for delicious Italian dishes. The ingredients are readily available, and the directions are clear and uncomplicated. It would be a great gift for anyone just beginning the cooking adventure! Buon Apetito!

The recipes are VERY simple. So simple that I am not sure how they will have much flavor. There is nothing special here. After flipping through it, I think I will make 1-2 things. I would consider myself to be a pretty capable home cook. This book might help someone who is new to the kitchen and doesn't want to fuss with a lot of ingredients for a basic meal.

Great book! I gave the same book away before looking at it closely. Why looking it over with the recipient, I realized I’d made a huge mistake, and immediately purchased another...for keeps!! Very user friendly and authentic!

I was disappointed in this cook book. The recipes were quite unusual.....maybe true Italian, but not for me. I did not feel I would make these recipes for a weekly meal—entertaining, more likely.

I love the recipes and looking forward to trying the all.

Love the inside recipes, disappointed that it came with damage since it is “brand new”. The recipes though are so simple and classic honestly excited. Brings some of my knowledge of growing up in an Italian home to the next level with a few other dishes I would have never really thought of.

Wonderful book. I love it. The recipes really are quick and easy. And the Italian name is given for each recipe, which I like as well.

I think it's a great book for a beginner who likes Italian food but might feel overwhelmed by The Silver Spoon. The recipes are straightforward and achievable, the layout is uncluttered and it has a nice look and feel to it, with a photograph for each recipe. There are some duplicates from The Silver Spoon, but also some variations and completely new recipes to try. If you have The Silver Spoon and not a lot of shelf space(!), you could skip it, but if you want a book you can delve into for some quick Italian meal ideas, this book is great.Please note that this book is primarily aimed at the US market, but UK English names are in brackets, e.g. "fava (broad) beans", and quantities are in cups, ounces and grams as appropriate. I can't see any ingredients I can't get hold of, and all the recipes do indeed seem quick to make. I've tried a couple, following the instructions to the letter, and found them to be very good. The selection is excellent, from a quick and tasty "midweek" meal to something a bit more posh. Having a photo per recipe makes selection and presentation easy. Hope this helps.
