I’m a magnet for bad can openers. The OXO one got to the point where it’d only slice open part of the can top, leaving me to pry the rest off with pliers. And the super old-school one in the drawer was hard to turn. And dull. I’ve been searching for a better can opener for awhile now (seriously, how hard can it be to make a good can opener???) and when I saw this one pop up on Amazon it said all the right things. Easy to turn, big grip, clean edges, 10 year warranty. And it didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Oh, and color choices. Nice. Wasn’t expecting much for the price, but WOW this thing really works!!! Turns smoothly and easily and opens the can. Voila! I’m sold. Have only had it a few weeks so can’t yet speak to its durability, but I remain hopeful. Big thumbs up from me.

My Oxo can opener failed after many years and many baths in the dishwasher, so I purchased the Gorilla and hoped, after reading reviews, that it would be a good alternative. Alas, after 2 or 3 uses, the Gorilla did the same: once I got started cutting in a good, clear spot, it just refused to continue. Try again. A little progress here and there. Ultimately a fairly dangerous lid removal by hand. However, I had saved the guarantee from the packaging, contacted the company via email, and their response was immediate and friendly, offering a refund, which I accepted.

I was using Kitchenaid can opener, which is only few dollars more than this. When it broke after a long time, I decided to buy this since it was a little cheaper and had good reviews. It's been 3 days and I regret not spending the extra dollars on Kitchenaid. After the first wash in dishwasher, I could see rust around the blade area. When I tried to use it, it kept slipping off the can without gripping on to it. It wasn't sharp enough either. KitchenAid opener grabs on strong to the can and in one go, the can is open. This one does not work and I have to buy another brand now.

This is a great can opener! I have used many different ones including electric, but nothing beats a good hand gripping can opener. It rolls smoothly along the can and the grip is comfortable.

Doesn't open cans. Also, lost a can after attempting to open with this and getting metal shards inside.

This can opener has a great grip and attaches and turns easily. It is far superior to the others I've had in recent years from reputable kitchenware brands. I absolutely love it! I am thinking about getting one for my son. I would definitely buy it again!

It does not hold the lid after cutting entire lid through.

Used it a few times and it never really worked. Thought I was using it incorrectly, so had a friend try it and same thing...never actually opened a can. Bought a Starfrit MightiCan can opener and it has worked every time. very disappointed.

I love this it's easy to use, would be perfect for those with arthritis or the elderly. It is beautiful, nice and sturdy, of good quality and guaranteed for 10 years I think it is. It opens the lid perfectly leaving only a little piece of metal attached.

Bought it in September, rarely used it, broke in January. It was great while it lasted but, at that price, it should have lasted longer. Better to buy two cheap ones and have a spare.
