Verbatim Folio Slim Case with Keyboard for iPad mini, Black 98186

Like: 1.Material of case (feels comfortable and sturdy, simplicity of design looks nice for business and elegant for everyday use); 2. A 360 Rotation allows easy adjustment for reading/viewing on vertical position; 3. Magnetic surface allows usage with other keyboards; 4. Customer service is attentive from Luigi & Co.Dislike (please read solution): 1. Keyboard (experienced some slow responsiveness while typing…I move fast). Solution: paired with a different keyboard (Arteck with backlit).Conclusion: Very good buy. Even if you spend additional money on a different keyboard, you still get a very good investment.

Unlike some reviewers, who have complained that the keyboard is too small, or that the keys aren't sensitive enough, I'm not a touch typist, so those aren't issues for me. The case (with the iPad) is a bit heavy, but that's partially a result of the quality construction.The only real downside I've found is that some of the Hot Keys, such as Photos (which should open the photos) and Soft Keyboard (which should open the onscreen keyboard) don't do anything. On the other hand, the two most useful (to me) Hot Keys do work ... Home Screen (which closes any open app and returns you to the Home Screen) and Lock (which shuts down the iPad).

I wanted a keyboard for my mini and this was a good solution. My only problem was with the tiny, and I mean tiny, switches on the keyboard itself. The designers either are small fingered or never considered that an adult male has fingers too large to slide the switches on and off. This is a small price to pay for the convenience and time savings that having a full keyboard to write with presents. The mini itself is held in place very well and allows the unit to be used while traveling, as a passenger of course. Overall the Folio was a bargain at the price I paid.

REVIEW UPDATE!Old Review:I bought 23 of these cases/keyboards for high school students. 2 of the keyboards had problems and will have to be returned. I'm a little disappointed that Verbatim will not let us send just the keyboards back for replacements. I'll have to buy two substitute cases while the return is being processed. That's disappointing customer service. The students have just been using these for two weeks now. It remains to be seen how durable they will be.Updated info:Now that our students have been using these for about a month, 3 more of the keyboards have developed problems. However, Verbatim is now sending us the new cases with keyboards and allowing us to return the items after receipt. That helps some.The cases themselves are holding up well so far.

These keyboard cases were marked way down so at this price I couldn’t justify returning one when the USB port broke loose inside the case. Otherwise it seems like a good product and works fine.

This product is the perfect size for a woman's purse, the keyboard is great and the material of the case is so nice that it wipes away dust, etc. very easily! However, the iPad Mini does not sit up w/in the case so that you can type with the keyboard. That being said it was such a great price that I kept the keyboard for future use...

I realize that I purchased a "used" item, but it was in good conditiona stated, but I was disappointed because the seller did not include the USB cord that came with the original purchase. It they were not going to send it, they should have said so.

This item is a nice cover for my iPad Mini, it is of quality materials and fits well if the keyboard or a sheet of foam padding is inserted with the mini; however, this causes it to be more bulky than necessary to just use if for a plain cover.The keyboard is useless to me since to insert basic punctuation it is necessary to press a function key. I don't want to have this interruption when typing as well as have to learn to do this which will most likely interfere with my usual touch typing method.Tried it and didn't like it.

The case and keyboard are good quality but despite the website and the Verbatim desciptions included on the documentation this will not fit the 1st generation I-Pad.

I really do like the 98021 Folio case, which shouldn't be confused with the older model (98020). I wanted a keyboard for my iPad 2nd gen, and this fit the bill. After nearly two months, I have no real complaints about the case yet I feel like it doesn't stand out as a product. The weight is okay. It's fairly rugged. It is professional enough that I bring it to work, yet sporty enough that it is thrown into my carry on luggage on for vacations. A loop or slot for a stylus would be a good addition, as would a slot for a business card. That being said, I have no regrets over this purchase.

This unit is heavier than I thought it would be and once the Ipad is placed in the unit, it's VERY difficult to remove. It would be okay if you were always using the unit by standing it on desk but on your lap it's too heavy to be comfortable...and you have to work very hard to remove the unit so be sure you want it to be a permanent fixture! Well made and professional looking.
