Bought this cord to match the gift tags I embellish with appliquéd fabric.

I wasn't able to use this as intended as the cord wouldn't melt. The seller explained that the cord was coated with paraffin wax, but that it was pure 100% cotton cord. They explained to me that real cotton burns and turns to ash, even when waxed-coated. Like the wick of a candle, when the wax is melted the cotton will burn, never melt. They told me that cords that melt instead are either a poly-cotton blend, sometimes mistakenly marketed as 'cotton' or other plastic materials. I now know better for my future purchases, and wouldn't hesitate to buy a more suitable product (to me) from this seller.
