Good basic knee immobilizer!!
This knee immobilizer works well because of 3 sets of stays, which are located at the back and along each side. The 4 Velcro closures attach to the padded rods on the sides to lock everything into place. These rods are covered in an extra layer of the same thin foam material that the entire immobilizer is made from, minimizing discomfort from the stays, along I find that after several hours of wear, I need to reposition to minimize pressure points. The Velcro works well and allows for adjustment to fit different leg sizes. This immobilizer is thin enough so that it fits under a long skirt without drawing too much attention (anymore than that from the change in walking while knee is immobilized, anyway). I do not think it would fit well under pants, although it works well under shorts.I own 4 different knee immobilizers; I've tried different versions to find the best fit. These are necessary to help heal a leg fracture (located near the knee), which has failed to heal after 9 months in lesser braces. This immobilizer is not as comfortable for all-day wear as the tri-panel immobilizer (also purchased on Amazon), because it is not as padded, plus the open knee of the tri-panel version is more comfortable. However, I prefer to sleep in this Bilt-Rite immobilizer, because it is less bulky and interferes with my sleep less. This 16" immobilizer also provides a little less immobilization of the knee joint than the 20" versions. Carefully consider the length of immobilizer you will need; longer versions will better fix the knee in place. However, if too long, they rub uncomfortably, especially at the top. I am a 5'2" woman and sometimes find the 20" immobilizers uncomfortable because of this. Finally, also consider whether you need to have a closed-knee immobilizer like this, because you will be more comfortable in an open-knee immobilizer, if your doctor is ok with this.I took 1 star off because it is not as sturdy as the other 3 immobilizers, but should hold up for several months of part-time wear.

Exactly as described perfect immobilizer
I don't write a lot of reviews, but seeing as I actually wasn't going to buy this because of the one review that this item had. I accidentally purchased this instead of another I had in my cart. I want to say the other review was completely false and more than likely should've returned the item as it was probably not complete. This was exactly like the one I got at the hospital except shorter, which allows for more mobility. I have heavy legs, and this one fits just fine, less bulky than the "one size" fits all one from the hospital.I'm extremely happy with my purchase and am excited to be able to get back to work tomorrow now that my immobilizer won't be in the way!

Comfortable and plenty of adjustments
Comfortable and plenty of adjustments. Had tendency to slide down but that could be more a factor of the leg shape.

Poor quality
These immobilizers fell apart quickly. I bought them 5 months ago and I have to buy new ones already. My son wears them while he is sleeping, so it's not like they were worn while doing any activity. The metal bones keep falling out and the whole immobilizer is coming apart at the seams. I will never purchase these again.

There is no way that this is one size fits ...
There is no way that this is one size fits all. The product I received would not make it all the way around my leg!
