If a male D9 breakout connector could be beautiful: this is it! Designed to be opened and the connector assembly removed to facilitate terminating your cable. Reassembly is quick, sure and a durable connection is the result.

I needed to create a custom mini-DIN to DB9 serial cable for a project I was working on. This little adapter allowed me to easily create the 'standard' DB9 end to plug into my PC easily. I cut up an old mini-DIN cable, crimped some ferrules on the individual wires, then plugged those into the screw-down terminals on the adapter. Everything worked great. My only complaint is that the hold-down screws aren't threaded properly - they're threaded too long, so the screws aren't 'captive' in the adapter like they are in every other standard hold-down style connector. Other than that, I have no complaints. I'd recommend these to anyone.

I had to make an adapter from a mini-DIN 8 to a DB-9 and was unsure of the exact pinout I might need, so I didn't want a solder connector, in case I needed to make adjustments. This worked quickly and easily, although I did pull out my soldering iron to tin the bare wires before I inserted them into this adapter. Turns out I got the pinout right the first time, but I'm still happy I used this type of product, and I would use it again.

I needed an 8-conductor cable for wiring some controls on a metal lathe, so this fit the bill perfectly and I have an extra conductor left over. Per the description, the conductors are very thin, so you'll need to solder rather than crimp them if you're using spade or ring terminals. The outer jacket is thicker plastic, so the cable is a little stiff. That's no problem at all for me, but some people might expect a cable with such fine conductors to be more flexible. In any case, this was exactly what I needed for my product, and the quality seems fine as well.

J'ai dû me fabriquer un câble avec cette sortie pour pouvoir connecter un boitier de programmation sur ma moto, pour le prix, je me suis dit que ça valais le coup de tenté l'expérience, car le câble d'origine à 100€ c'était un peu cher. Au final aucun soucis, la communication entre le véhicule, le boitier et le PC se fait super bien. Pas de bug ou déconnexion, donc j'ai fait une belle économie.

The proper size screwdriver for the terminal strips is included, and the terminals securely holds the wires in place. This connector is perfect for your projects where a standard RS-232 cable is not the correct configuration.
