Great for winterizing garden hoses
Great for winterizing garden hoses. I bought both the male and female versions because I wasn't sure if I would have access to both ends of each hose. They both work great. I already have a compressor hose setup with a quick disconnect for attaching various pieces like an air chuck for car tires. This is a great adapter that doesn't require you to buy pieces and build a blow out. I used the adapter to blow out my 4 garden hose reels and my drip irrigation hoses. It took longer to pressurize my small compressor and take the compressor hose and adapter to each hose reel than it took to blow out all the hoses. The adapter simply screws into one end of the garden hose. Then you easily snap the other end into the quick connect on the compressor hose. And in seconds, the water is pushed out of the garden hose and the hose is ready for winter storage. Much easier than unrolling a 100 ft hose and lifting and hoping you drain all the water. One additional tip - the water will shoot out of the garden hose with some force so you may want to put a brick or other weight on top of the end of the hose so the hose doesn't fly around.

Works great for self-winterizing sprinklers!
This makes it super easy to winterize your system by yourself. My shutoff valve box has a nipple for doing this, but it's something other than the typical compressor quick connect type fitting. Since I already have an outdoor faucet down in the garden that is part of the irrigation side of the shutoff valve, I can easily attach this adapter and use my compressor to blow out my sprinklers. Note that if you don't have a faucet on the sprinkler side, you can get parts at a hardware store to fit this adapter onto one of the sprinkler feeders itself, but you will need a way to force that valve open all the time during blow-out. This is not something most sprinkler controllers let you do. Note that you do NOT want to use this on a regular outdoor faucet on the house side of the shutoff valve! Steps to use this: 1. Shut off the main sprinkler valve. This is probably at the street near your meter. 2. Open the outdoor faucet and let as much water drain out by gravity as possible 3. Attach this adapter, and then attach the compressor to it 4. Start up the compressor and let it charge the tank. 5. One by one, go through and open each sprinkler zone valve and let it run until it's just blowing air 6. When you're done, close the faucet Note that you will need a "real" compressor for this. My 1 gallon craftsman compressor has a hard time keeping the line at 20psi while doing this. Be careful to stop and let the compressor cool off every few minutes.

The Solid Brass Peace-of-Mind Plunger for Winterization
f you have a sprinkler system or outdoor faucets in a freezing climate, this adapter is a non-negotiable tool. The Air Compressor Quick-Connect Plug To Garden Hose Blow Out Adapter completely removes the annual stress of winterizing your system. What truly sets this apart is the Solid Lead-Free Brass construction. It’s heavy, durable, and feels like it will last a lifetime, unlike flimsy aluminum or cheap plastic alternatives. The quality means I never worry about it cracking or stripping under pressure. Using it is incredibly simple: Connect the threaded end to any standard garden hose bib or the main blow-out port of your sprinkler system. Snap your air compressor's quick-connect fitting onto the adapter. Use low, steady pressure (always follow manufacturer guidelines!) to safely and efficiently purge water from your lines. In less than 15 minutes, I had my entire sprinkler system and all my exterior taps winterized. It’s a perfect, secure fit every time. This tool doesn't just save you the cost of hiring a professional; it prevents the catastrophic cost of burst pipes. An absolute must-have for every homeowner in a cold region.

Perfect...exactly what I wanted.
Awesome, just what I was in need of. I was shopping online to locate the parts needed to make a hose-based adapter for blowing out my sprinklers, when I stumbled upon this. My original plan was to make this same adapter using two fittings on each end of a short length of hose. The price for those fittings and hose was going to be around $25.00 or more. This little guy was less than half the price of my original plan, it's much smaller and easier to store, and certainly more durable as there is really nothing to go wrong with the thing, other than perhaps the standard hose gasket falling out, but that is easy and cheap to replace if lost, and not the fault of the adapter itself. Bottom line - I'm super happy with this. It's simple, it works, its priced right, and its durable. What more could you ask for?

Perfect for irrigation blow out.
Connected my air compressor to this to blow out my smaller irrigation system. Worked perfectly, no leaks and threaded easily to the garden hose spigot on my system.

Pays for itself in 30 minutes
This is an excellent connector for hooking my air compressor up to the sprinklers system for a water blow out before winter. My sprinkler faucet is located near the ground so I added a bend connector on it to make it easier to attach the air hose. This connector work great and connected to the air hose perfectly. Also, your air compressor should be a gas one… the electric ones just don’t have enough juice to do a good job in my opinion. I watched my neighbor attempt to use his electric air compressor and it took him hours to do the job. I felt sort of bad when I pulled out my gas air compressor with this attachment and was done in 30 minutes.
