POLAR Stride Waterproof Running Sensor Bluetooth Smart

Q: Does the Polar Stride Sensor Bluetooth work with the LG/Google Nexus 5 Android phone?

I have been in contact with Polar customer support and they confirmed that the Polar Stride Sensor Bluetooth is ONLY compatible with iPhone 4s and later (5, 5c, 5s). It is not compatible with any Android devices at the present time (04/2014), even those that support the latest Bluetooth v4.0 low energy mode. It seems that the sensor requires a phone that implements a sub-profile spec of RSCP (Running Speed and Cadence Profile) which has not been implemented in any Android device as yet. The Polar Stride Sensore Bluetooth should be listed as iPhone 4s/5/5c/5s ONLY.

Q: Can I use this for walking and hiking or is it just for runners?

Yes, you can use the sensor for walking, hiking and running as long as you have it successfully link to your smart phone device and you have an app that will work with the sensor.

Q: What size battery does it us?

As a matter of fact I changed my battery this morning. I think you mean the type which is a CR2025 which is readily available ar radio shack, staples and pharmacies. The battery is .78 inches in diameter and .1 inches thick. By the way I use my HRM every day of the week and the battery lasts about 14 weeks

Q: Will this work with the new m400?

As long as the m400 accepts smart BT accessories.
