The Most Ideal, Cost-Efficient Star Wars Collection
Here in the US, the only true means of getting the Skywalker Saga in one package is the Best Buy exclusive 4K/BD collector’s edition that’s pretty much housed in a coffee table book. The most recent Disney single releases only have the film disc and no disc for the bonus features. In doing research for a worthwhile set, this is the one that captured my intention. Despite being a UK Blu-ray set, the discs are region-free. They played perfectly fine on both my PS4 and my Samsung Blu-ray player. The price of the set is not bad whatsoever. It turns out to be way cheaper than the Best Buy set and even buying all the single releases altogether. If you are looking for a way to collect all 9 Skywalker Saga films at an excellent price, import this set. Now, the only thing I will double dip on in terms of the Skywalker Saga is a release of the original theatrical cuts of the original trilogy.

Recommended for Star Wars fans
Great quality and a collection item for Star Wars fans. It shipped from the UK, requiring patience during the month it took to arrive. Episodes four, five, and six do not have original footage that some people look for. The rest, minus Jar Jar Binks of course, is exactly what I wanted. The box looks great on its own and the added DVD content is a good addition for anyone looking it.

Fantastic set
I really love this collection. I'm a really old school fan, but in no way a Star Wars fanatic. I was at the perfect age when the first movie hit theaters, and for a 10 year old boy it was a revalation. Of course I was a long for the ride when The Empire Strikes back was released , but by the time of Return of the Jedi, and the cutesy Ewoks and stuff, I was older losing interest. By the time the Phantom Menace came along, I was a real cinaphile, and found the over the top special effects, and the horrible dialog too much. So I left the Star Wars universe for good. Then as years went by I returned out of curiosity. Enjoyed the Force Awakens , and Rogue One. Then comes the Pandemic, and I really need something to lose myself in, and its pretty perfect to watch these movies straight through. I actually enjoyed the three movies I originally derided, partly due to keeping my expectations low, but in the context of the entire series, and world that was created, its definantly its own thing, and with all its up and downs, its fun. The movies look great on blu ray. If your a fan, have kids in that 8 to 15 yr range or so, or just want an escape in crazy times. I highly recommend

I'm 50/50 on this Limited Edition UHD Box Set.
I really love having nearly all the movies in one collection. It's a nice set in terms of what it is, but a couple of flaws. First and most unbelievable is how the discs are stored. They are stored in the cardboard sleeves of each page of the "book" that they come in. While it's not horrible, it also makes it impossible to remove each disc without having to grab the laser side with your fingers to yank it out. On top of having to get fingerprints all over them just to get them out, you run the risk of scratching the laser side with them pressing right against the cardboard. Yes it is treated cardboard so it has a pretty smooth surface and the chance of it scratching are slim, but I don't like taking that risk. The only other thing that is a bummer is that this massive collection has no digital copy. For something like this with this price, that really should be a standard these days. It's sort of ridiculous to spend all this money on a mega collection, only to need to spend even way more just to have them in digital format (either via bring purchased from streaming services, or buying the UHD copies that come with a code, if there are any). One side thing that would be nice is with the personal note from Mark Hamill. It's neat, but not super special. If it were an actual signature (ie. not just a printed copy of his signature) and or they were individually numbered to show their limited quantity, it would make it a bit more special. Plus it just sits inside the book on the top page. There is nothing to hold it so any time you open the book, it will just fall out. They could have added a thin page to hold it at least. As for the region issue that people are reporting, I am not too sure what they talking about. The box says it works for all 3 region. I cannot help but notice all the people with issues are saying "their DVD player" when these are UHD 4k Blu-rays. They will not play on any standard DVD or blu-ray player. It has to be 4k compatible. I have not tried them in my player yet as I just ripped the videos to a media server for arching reasons. When I have time, I will check to confirm and see if their complaint's are founded, but I suspect they are not. It's a nice collection for what it is, but it seems like they could have done things a little differently on it.

4K discs are incredibly delicate
At first, I was very frustrated that out of nine 4K discs, only four would successfully play all the way through (ripping MKV to Plex)! After reading some advice online, though, I used a new microfiber cleaning cloth, with no liquid, to carefully wipe down each disc and get rid of fingerprints and tiny bits of debris. This reduced the failure rate to only one disc, and a second cleaning fixed that as well. The discs are really at the practical limit of reliably storing 80GB+ of data!

I have always been a serious fan for all things Sc-Fi. IMHO, one the greatest Sc-Fi Movies ever made is “2001: A Space Odyssey” (Arthur C. Clarke – Stanley Kubrick). This Film is an amazing thought-provoking journey with equally amazing Visuals and Sounds, mindful its release was way back in 1968. In the mid 70’s, after watching this Film, I could not see how any subsequent film could ever compare with this Masterpiece. George Lucas changed all that in 1977 with the Release of Star Wars IV. Although I was a bit slow getting onto the Star-Wars Bandwagon, I eventually purchased the Original Star Wars Trilogy on VHS videos. These were Great Movies, at the time. Then I went upmarket purchasing the Special Edition Trilogy on NTSC Laser-Disc with AC3 (Dolby Digital 5.1) which was Fantastic. Then I purchased both the Silver and Gold DVD Boxsets of the Special Edition Trilogy. Then I bought the 6 Movie Blu-Ray Boxset with Film Cell. Now I have the latest 4K Ultra HD HDR / HD / Bonus Discs Boxset featuring 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos. Needless to say, I am somewhat obsessive, when it comes to watching / owning Star Wars Movies which produce the very best Audio-Visual experience available. This Boxset achieves the Very Best Audio-Visual Experience EVER. Although I enjoy the Prequel and Sequel Trilogies, my real love is for the Original Special Edition Trilogy. There is no doubt in my mind that this version of the Original Trilogy (Episode IV) transferred to 4K UHD/HDR is absolutely amazing for its clarity, colour and detail, on a movie which is over 40 years old. I have watched episodes I -IV with IV (The New Hope) being my favourite and can say that the Dolby Atmos Sound experience on these Movies, is absolutely Exceptional. The Packaging is a very nice dual-slide opening outer box with a sort of black rubberise texture and a nicely printed “Death Star” on the front. The Hard Cover Book within is removed by using a silk type pull ribbon. The Book outer covers are steel ’ish in colour featuring faux steel screws and Boldly Printed (Not Embossed), Centralised “STAR WARS” with “THE SKYWALKER SAGA” printed underneath. The Book itself consists of double thick Hard Card pages with nicely printed artwork scenes from each Movie. Each Right Page artwork scene has two pockets which hold the Scene-Movie appropriate 4K and HD Discs. The Bonus discs are stored similarly in the back Hard Card Pages which feature Black & White photos relating to the appropriate Movies. Also included is the Personal Message, on a semi- clear plastic letter from Mark Hamill, which is a nice touch. There are things about this Collector’s Boxset that need to be mentioned. Firstly, although described as a Limited-Edition Boxset, there is no mention of how many Boxsets are being Produced & no LE Certificate. With further scrutiny, I see this Boxset is advertised as Limited Edition (Exclusive to Amazon) which I suppose is how Amazon can justify calling this a Limited Edition, which I feel is a little bit naughty & misleading. I believe Special Edition would have been a more appropriate description of this Boxset. Secondly, each of the discs are really tight in their own pockets and require considerable pulling force to extract. I use a Micro-Fibre Lens cleaning cloth when removing the discs so as to avoid leaving finger-thumb prints of the disc surfaces. I now leave this cloth inside the Presentation Case so it is always available when required. With time I’m sure this tightness will reduce but the Micro-Fibre cloth would still be required to remove the discs safely & cleanly. The Bonus discs I have watched, up to Episode IV, have audio which does not always play as it should. I have found that rewinding for a few seconds then playing sorts this out but is rather frustrating & annoying. I purchased this Boxset primarily for the 4K UHD/HDR Formats and the Dolby Atmos audio. It would have been nice to include a Separate disc detailing the Technical Processes for Transferring these 9 Movies onto the 4K Format. Similarly, it would have been nice to have seen the inclusion of the Sequel Trilogy 3D Discs. It is strange that Film Studios are still producing 3D Movies but the equipment Manufactures are no longer supporting 3D (TV’s & Blu-Ray Players). Passive 3D “Out of Screen” experience on a 4K television is Visually just amazing. It wouldn’t surprise me if Disney decided to give Episodes I – VI the 3D treatment and produce another Boxset including the existing 3D Episodes VII – IX. As an aside, It is my view that not including the Standalone Movies, “Solo” and “Rogue One” with “The Skywalker Saga” Boxset, was the right and proper decision. Bottom Line, this is a really nice Collectors Boxset (albeit expensive), with the 4K Visuals and Dolby Atmos immersive Audio being Fabulous, making this a must have addition to any Die-Hard “Star-Wars” Collection.

Box is a little bit flimsy, but with care can be kept near mint condition. Bonus discs have director commentary, development insights, interview. The main attraction on these bonus discs is the deleted scenes and outtakes, plenty of fresh content to enjoy! A stunning tribute to the Skywalker saga! And may the force be with you... Always.

Excellent quality and fast delivery. I guess I don't have to introduce these movies anymore. For me this is childhood nostalgia combined with modern movie-making. The story was over with ‘Return of the Jedi’ in my opinion. The last trilogy are good films on their own but the continuation of the story felt unnecessary.
