Pure Fiori di Sicilia Extract, Natural - 2 fl. oz. glass bottle

First...let me start by saying this lil baking secret gem is worth every penny!!! I had read reviews before purchasing after learning about this flavor addition to any baked pastry, cake or cookie. I wasn't sure if the reviews were just "hype" but decided to take a (for me $$) huge leap of faith & purchase this. I am so glad that I did!! The hype is not hype as we know it. I could never figure out how bakeries/patessiries got that special flavor in their amazing creations..NOW I KNOW! IT'S FIORI DI SICILIA!! We bake a variety of special cookies at Christmas time & box them in beautifully decorated boxes as gifts for family & friends. Each year after Thanksgiving I begin getting emails or texts requesting favorites from all my eager sugar enthusiasts☺️ So this year as my daughter & I baked she was really excited to use the Fiori Di Sicilia in a few of the cookies but we started w/one of our doughs. After adding it, we tasted a small nibble & our eyes just popped as we stared at each other & hummed "Mmmm"☺️😋😋😋 So we chose a few more cookies/pastries to add the Fiori Di Sicilia to, but not all, so that we wouldn't end up with a "one flavor note" on everything. But it probably wouldn't have mattered bc each sugary item ended up with a different flavor profile anyway! So long story, but we ended up delivering our lovingly baked Christmas treats & immediately that same night the calls & texts came flooding in. They all wanted to know "What the heck? What did you girls do? The treats this year are AMAZING! They taste different...they're not only still good..but they're FANTASTIC!" We just looked at each other & laughed! I've since made various cakes for different occasions for family gatherings over the past couple of weeks & each time the look on our friends/family's faces are priceless! This is an amazing extra lil "Umph" of flavor to add to your baked sweets & treats to make you look like a professionally trained pastry chef! 👍😁 This will not disappoint but BE WARNED... (I heeded the advice from others, so I'd like to pass on their advice)...make no mistake, you only need to use a very small amount. I didn't over do it so I can't tell you what that would taste like..but only using a small amount packs a gigantic flavor profile! I Definitely & Highly Recommend spending the extra $$ to get this amazing product if you want to bake to make the people in your life happy! ☺️☺️ They will thank you for it...by the way I did "spill the tea" on our secret ingredient & encouraged friends & family bakers to purchase this! Hey, sometimes you just have to "fess up" & spread the good news! So definitely purchase this product & Good Baking everyone! 👍🥰

Yeah, it's a little pricey when compared to generic vanilla or orange extract. However, if I am going to take the time to bake a cake from scratch [which is mostly how I roll when baking], this is wonderful stuff. I can't really describe the flavor it imparts to a plain white or yellow cake; fabulous comes to mind. I haven't tried it in chocolate or spice cake, yet. Lemon cake - wonderful! Worth the money, IMHO. YMMV.

I have purchased and used other products deemed Fiori di Sicilia flavor from King Arthur Flours and Sur La Table. This product from Silver Cloud is NOT the same as those others....in a GOOD way!! After I used the 'other' products - I never really felt they made that much of a difference as they are just a combination of orange and vanilla - an orange crème sickle flavor. I was hesitant about paying such a high price for the Silver Cloud fearing it would just be the same as the others. When I received the Silver Cloud Fiori di Sicilia extract - I opened the bottle and compared it smell wise to the other bottles of the 'other' brands I already had. I could smell it was different - and it tasted a little different too. But how would it do when I baked with it? I waited for my review until after my holiday baking of panettone. I make 18 panettone at the holidays every year. WOW - what a difference! This product from Silver Cloud is worth the price. It has such a complexity of flavors is hard to describe. Yes you can detect orange but 'something' much, much more. BEST panettone I have ever made - just like 'real' Italian panettone that I have had from Italy!! It is not a flavoring that you want to use to much of in your recipe...so a little goes a long way. This will be a regular pantry item in my kitchen from now on.

The essence of Sicily comes through as soon as you open the bottle. Very strong orange scent and flavor. Be careful not to use too much- use sparingly. I reduced the amount of orange zest in recipes if I used Fiori di Sicilia extract.

I first purchased and used Fiori di Sicilia several years ago, the flavor was out of this world, I purchased it from King Arthur Flour company it was very expensive at $8 for a one once bottle, when it was finished I didn't hesitate to buy a 4oz bottle. It was a very concentrated essence and I only used 1/8 teasp to flavor a 3 egg Victoria Sponge which I make weekly. I still have the empty bottle to remind me what the label looked like.Without hesitation I reordered from King Arthur but the second bottle had a different label and the flavor was significantly less pleasing.3rd time around I decided to try the Sliver Clouds product. I have used it quite a number of times but can barely detect any flavor, certainly not a citrus flavor. Finally, I put my finger on the bottle and licked it to check the flavor, a sharp buzz of alcohol and a mild but negative taste. The "best by" date on the bottle is 3/1/26, so that isn't the problem. I will not be using it again.

This is nothing at all like the Fiori di Sicilia from King Arthur. King Arthur's is a distinct orange + vanilla scent with a strong orange oil flavor. But this one is positively floral! I cannot stop smelling it. I made some scones with this extract and they were wonderful! The scent is just...it just makes me happy. It's a spring garden in a bottle. I love it. Don't get me wrong, King Arthur's is great. But it's different. I feel like they shouldn't have the same name because they are so different. But it is what it is. If you like to bake, splurge a little and get this. It's worth it.

I first saw this extract on a recipe for baking and so I ran to Google and YouTube to figure it out and I wanted to give it a try. I didn’t go wrong with the cake I baked, I’m so glad I found it and ordered it, it boosts the flavor it has a flowery flavor, I made an orange cake and it had the best flavor so far. I still need to try it in the cookies I will be baking here soon.

Added to my pound cake recipe and it was delicious!!
