need, if you want results
usually my local dealership has better prices than amazon when it comes to OEM toyota parts, but this was priced as the the same.my last cap was past it's expiration date, hence this purchaseOEM never disappoints

Fit perfectly on my '95 Avalon
Works just fine on my '95 Toyota Avalon. Looks like the genuine Toyota part, made in Japan.I definitely needed a new one after 20 years. Part of the release mechanism was broken on the old one , but that wasn't what was causing my problem. After trying a lot of things, including changing the timing belt and water pump, I realized my problem was that I wasn't "burping" the radiator as I added coolant. If you've drained coolant from the engine, you have to keep squeezing the upper radiator hose as you add new fluid. This gets the air bubbles out. I had to burp it like these half a dozen times, or more, as I refilled. When you're done, the upper hose should feel full. Pretty basic, but I was not familiar with this type of cooling system where you don't fill right at the top of the radiator.

Works
Fit 06 Sienna and resolved issue. If you have bubbling in your overflow tank, your cap may not be holding pressure. New cap fixed the issue on my Sienna.

Faulty device
Though shows original Toyota parts but I got a faulty one. It started to collapse my coolant pipe. I again need to replace the part with a new one.

One of those parts that's worth going OEM to replace.
Fixed my 2002 Sienna coolant issues with a faulty aftermarket radiator cap. This OEM one fits much tighter and precise, and I no longer have pressure issues with the overflow tank. Worth every penny, and now I can be certain this radiator cap will probably outlive the rest of the vehicle.
