Q: If I use this to replace my battery backup how do I hook this up? Mine has 2 bare wires going to it.

The adapter connects directly into the gateway in place of the wire running from the backup to the gateway. It does not connect to the battery backup at all.

Q: Could you tell me the input and output amps listed on the power adapter? Any other specs listed would be great too. Many thanks.

On the back of the adapter, it states: Input 100-240v, 50-60Hz. Output: 12v DC, 3 amp.

Q: does this adapter come with a power cord

This adapter does come with a power cord and works perfect for the ATT 3800HGV-B. If your back up battery is messing up and ATT won't replace it, I would highly recommend this adapter. I've had it for over a year and I have not had any problems with it so far. Great solution for the price.
