HTH035

Akkord continue their dark techno paths with HTH035, a gathering of previous EPs and 12"s. The slow throb of "Gravure" is like an artificial heart learning how to pump blood again, and the breaks and rave sweeps of "Continuum" will certainly get it pumping. "Typeface" starts with a simple woodblock but the rhythm quickly fills itself in, while "Greyscale" stay low and down to the ground. The Haxan Cloak turn "HTH020" into 10 minutes of intense, dark sonics, whereas Vatican Shadow gives "Typeface/Greyscale" a more house-oriented turn. FIS, meanwhile, initially adds some filtered classical strings to their take on "Gravure/Continuum" before the dissolution takes over, while Regis strikes the right notes with their "Whip Hand" mix of the same tracks. Akkord still nails it.
