Who would have known?
I never would have known about all these intriguing areas if I hadn't found this book. We're using it to plan several rides with our motorcycle club. Can't wait!

Quirky, Off-The-Beat Places Make for Long-Term Memories
Pam Grout's "Colorado Curiosities," takes you to "the road less traveled" (to borrow a book title by renowned author M. Scott Peck).Throughout her Colorado passage, Pam shows you that winding the "side-streets" of life not the "main drags" presents one with a more interesting life tapestry.Pam segments the "red colored earth" state by areas and points of interest: Eastern Colorado; College Towns; Denver; Lower Colorado; Mountain Towns; Crested Butte; Telluride; Northwestern Colorado; and South Central and Western Colorado. That way "the curious" will stay on-track.Why would anyone go straight north on Hwy. 30 to Boulder, Colorado, without stopping by the Greeley History Museum? While there one can view a rattlesnake flapper dress made from 50 deadly rattlesnakes.Greeley native Kate Slaughterbach became an overnight celebrity when she shot and pummeled 140 rattlesnakes to death in a few hourson October 25, 1925. Kate's rattler dress is the result of her heroic feat. And once you arrive in Boulder enjoy some "tea-time" as you whiff the peppermint vault at Celestial Seasonings headquarters in Boulder.Life certainly is more savory if you allow "a (peppermint) breather" to become your new way of living. Author Grout shows us the way.
