It's OK but has problems
I didn't see many reviews on this camera but decided to buy it anyway as there are few trail cameras available that take color night photos or video. This one uses LED bulbs to illuminate the subject it photographs. I think that may be it's problem. The night time photos often lack much color and have an overall greenish tint. Also, the creature running through (deer, dog, etc.) is often blurred, making the photo unusable. So far I've found the photo/video setting to be useless. It takes a photo then there's a significant delay before the video starts. By then, the creature who got photographed has decided to move on and you end up with a video of nothingness. I like the features, set-up controls and software more than any other trail camera I have owned in the past. And so far, the batteries have held up well. I haven't owned it long so will have to experiment more with it, in the hopes of getting better photos and videos out of it.

Great field camera
I have bought 2 of these and will buy another. I currently have 10 trail cameras out now in winter conditions in northwest Canada. I own ScoutGuards, Moultrie and Bushnell cameras. I also have other older models of ScoutGuard cameras. With this camera the night pictures can be too green at times and the SD slot should be just a touch shallower to make card changes easier, Other than that, I love the SG860C camera. It has great capabilities and a real ease of programming. The price is great too. Some of my best pictures have come from this camera model . I have 1,000's of pictures of black bears, grizzlies, cubs, wolves, coyotes, foxes, martins, fishers, deer, moose, wolverines and lynx and I have never experienced animals running off in fear of the camera action or camera flashes.
