This Product Sucks - Which Is Good!
Gotta say, didn't expect much, especially after I took it out of the box. Expected more of a siphon than a vacuum. That said, once I figured out how to use it, I have to admit, it's pretty darn effective. It does work on the siphon principle, so you need a bucket lower than the aquarium is to keep the flow going (some reviewers seemed to have a problem with that). However, once you get the flow moving (keep squeezing the ball until the water starts), I had no problems with it stopping on me. Suction was good enough to scoot the gravel around and clean it, but not so strong it tried to suck it out of the tank. Can also be used just to skim water off the top, although that's not its forte. The materials are OK (I've used it several times and it hasn't fallen apart). I'm sure after a couple of years it will hit it's end of life though (this won't be a family heirloom). Until then, it should do the job. I recommend it for what it is, a low cost siphon vac.

Face squeeze siphon up when starting
This pump is very useful to clean the gravel. To use it, just insert the vacuum part inside your aquarium, and then make sure the other end of the tube (which should go to a bucket or similar) is lower than the aquarium itself. With the squeeze starter facing up, squeeze a couple of times. Be careful since once the water start flowing, you might accidentally spray all around the room! So after the squeezes, quickly face it down so the water falls into the bucket. The pump sucks the dirt on the gravel very well, without sucking the gravel itself. The speed at which the water flows is quite high, so in my 20 gallon tank I normally end up taking out 30% of the water to clean all the gravel. To reduce the water sucking speed, you can just press on the tube, restricting the flow. The instructions on the package are not very clear, since they are written like if you did not have the squeeze starter; but once I read the reviews in Amazon, I quickly understood how to use it. Overall, a nice gravel vacuum, and a must-have item to keep you aquarium clean!

Works very wlle and holds up
One weak point is no way to prevent small snails or fish from being sucked up. If they make it into the squeeze, it has to be taken apart to remove the problem. When taken apart, it may not work properly unless you add duct tape to the green connector to make the rubber on the squeeze hold properly. It could use a screen or something similar to block this from happening. Otherwise, this is the best siphon for fish I have found yet. I use it to clean over 200 tanks a week.

Durable and effective
The Python Pro-Clean Siphon, is great for my aquarium needs, it is larger than I thought, which turned out to be great, my hands or arms do not have to go into the water, I rinsed it, once it got it, put it in my tank, pumped it up and watched it work, now I must say, depending on your tank size, you will need a deep bucket. Pull it up when it is finished and you are good to go, it siphons fast and you can guide the tube to where you want it without sucking up your fish in the process. I would highly recommend it and my fish will be much happier and so will I.

Thick and easy!
Oh wow is all I can think. I just used this item for the first time a few minutes ago and it couldn't be easier! I'd never used a proper siphon before and was a little concerned it might take some finagling to get the water flowing, but not so. I have a ten gallon aquarium and the plastic vacuum tube of the medium-sized Python I purchased fits great. I was able to insert it fully into the tank with a few inches of space left to spare. I placed the end below the tank and primed the starter bulb with my palm covering the hole. Five or six pumps later and everything was flowing smoothly! I use decorative glass beads as substrate and not a one got sucked up in the vacuum. I was able to sift around through them and visibly SEE the debris being sucked up into the tube! To get the water to stop flowing I just lifted the plastic tube out of the water. This item is a keeper, and the price can't be beat!

The Hindenburg of siphons
The Luftschiffbau Zeppelin Company gave us the Hindenburg. Columbia Pictures gave us Gigli. And now Python has blessed us with the Python Pro-Clean Aquarium Gravel Washer/Siphon Kit, Medium with Siphon Squeeze. I bought this new Python siphon because the squeeze on my old Aqueon siphon (purchased 12-15 years ago) gotten a little brittle and doesn't create as much suction as it used to. A siphon should, after all, suck and suck hard literally. Well, this Python Pro-Clean Aquarium Gravel Washer sucks and sucks hard figuratively. The squeeze creates very little suction, and the siphon gets blocked up by anything larger than a water molecule, making it the perfect siphon for aquariums with no substrate, no live plants or plastic plants, no other decorations, no silt, and no organisms. It moves pure water well is what I'm saying. To say this siphon is Temu would be a wild insult to Temu. An eye dropper sold at the same price would be a much, much better value. It would at least suck up some tiny dirt particles. After the big fail with this siphon, I brought out that old Aqueon. Though a shadow of its former self, it still does the job much, much better.

Decent but less than I expected
It works well. Better than using like a cup or bucket. I feel like maybe it's too big for my tank. I have a 20 gallon and alot of decorations with my little fish. It drains the tank super quick and is easy to start but it's just not sucking up the gravel and cleaning it like I thought it would

I use this to clean my turtle tank and it works pretty nicely. My only complaint is it allows some debris to fit into the tube which is too large to come out at the other end. For example when cleaning my turtle's tank sometimes there will be a random scute getting stuck in there. Overall easy to use and good product :)

I'm back in aquarium hobby after about 25 years away from it. I used to have a great gravel cleaner and the first two brands I tried this time around were a joke. I learned about the Python brand and it's GREAT, glad to have a good working gravel cleaner again, something to enjoy using with how well it works :-)
