Different types of tropical fish require different levels (*dKh) of Carbonate Hardness to thrive. This is a great product for increasing Carbonate Hardness and maintaining alkalinity. Alkalinity helps to keep aquarium water ph stable, as fish naturally produce ammonia when they eliminate. Ammonia increases acidity and stresses and kills fish. Although vacuuming the aquarium does help to reduce acidity, without the use of water buffers such as Kh Booster, the acidity builds up faster. Also, Kh Booster supports the natural nitrogen cycle of the aquarium water. Kh Booster increases the Ph, so test Ph before and after using it. Since I started using it, I've noticed a marked difference in the health of my tropical fish.I highly recommend this product and the API Gh/Kh test kit for testing alkalinity levels and Seachem 7.0 to balance ph. The test kit also provides a chart, outlining recommended hardness levels for several types of tropical fish. The Seachem 7.0 neutralizes the Ph to a 7.0.

This is a good product unfortunately I could not use it due to shipping damage. Amazon replaced it immediately and I hope to continue to use this product soon.
