UC100 - A Solid Upgrade
I have an old desktop PC running a clean copy of XP (no internet connection, no updates, boots fast!) with Mach3 with an old parallel port with 2 non-fucntioning input pins. This connects to a K2CNC 2514 machine controller. I decided to migrate to a USB port and eventuallly updat the PC with a current opeating system so I needed to get away from a PP first. In addition this would free up the CPU. I had several concerns that maybe Mach3 would not play nice, drivers would not load since I do not have an active internet connection on that PC, USB port was 1.0, etc.(whine). I am very happy to report that none of those concerns materialized. I was able to deactivate the Mach3 pulse engine, load drivers, and install plugin and Mach3 came up running. I did not even have to make any adjustments to Mach3, the steppers sounded smoother already. I have cut several parts and do not see any issues. The UC100 was well worth my investment!

UC100 USB to Parallel, the real deal.
Amazing, something that works as advertised. Worked right out of the box, yes it did come in a box, not a plastic bag. Don't have to depend on Win XP or printer port anymore, it also works with the remote pendant control. My main question is why did I wait so long.I did get one of the clones and after it was 21 days late I got a refund. It looks good but if you don't read Chinese, forget it, you won't find a driver. But be sure if you want one to get it from "CNCDRIVE". This product is the real deal. Be sure to download and follow instructions to the letter in advance, you won't be sorry. The clones will not work.Edit:This can put the little "ACER ASPIRE ONE" to use. Just install Win 7 if not installed and FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS from CNCDRIVE, works great.

It simply works
I was having continual issues getting my Win7 32 bit PC to talk with my Gecko G540. For whatever reason the address of the Parallel Ports didn't work. Tried formatting PC and installing a brand new parallel ports (7 different ones were tried... none worked). Tried replacing my Gecko (Shawn @ Zenbotcnc was kind enough to ship a brand new one to me), etc... nothing worked.I'd given up. Then I decided that I might as well give the UC100 a shot.Installation was a breeze as was the configuration with Mach3. The moment of truth was here, I turned on my Gecko, fired up my spindle and voilà! IT WORKED!!!I should have tried this months ago.

Three Stars
It works, but the slightest bump will disconnect it.

Works as expected
I bought this to use with Mach3 and a Gecko 420 CNC Mill. I was using an older PC with a parallel port and the PC failed. This seems to work pretty well but did require a bit of configuration to make it work correctly. I have had a few weird failures where I had to reset the program to regain access to the machine. This has only happened a few times but its probably worth mentioning. I have cut several designs now and it has worked for all of them.

Buyer Beware
This claims to be a UC100 motion controller, but, in fact is a VERY poor quality Chinese knockoff. It does NOT work as a UC100 and requires a non existent driver. Also, it comes with a PIRATED version of Mach3. It is half the price of a genuine UC100, but a complete waste of money. Don't be fooled like I was. Get the real UC100. Worth every additional penny over this thing.

Good value, great function. Definite buy!
Fit is good to above average. Finish is less complete than the UC 100 shown from the company in England, but, it is still well enough made, and is working very well on my Mach3 CNC.

It just works!
Works great for USB to Parallel port Mach 3 applications. Easy to flash firmware upgrade and no glitches... it just works. A bit pricey but considering what went into developing it, it's understandable. Hope it holds up to the test of time.
