I have an old home with smaller cabinets in the kitchen. These are a great size for the cabinets. They're better for my portion control. They have been DROPPED in the sink multiple times by my sons. One of my big reasons in picking these though was because they are lighter than most of the dishes I find around that are still dishwasher safe. So much easier for my beginning arthritis to hand wash. You may be able to see little imperfections in the coloring probably from being made but they were glazed well.

I wanted some larger plates for dinner -- in a pattern that complemented the black, white and gold designs on my existing tableware. These plates fit the bill perfectly.

I've had these plates for about 18 months now, so this is something of a long-term review. They clean easily, either by hand or in the dishwasher. They don't stain. They're sturdy; you can carry a stack of them easily enough. They look nice, at least until they start chipping.Cons: they feel lightweight; I like something that feels sturdier in my hands. And, as mentioned above, they chip quite easily. I have these and the smaller appetizer plates and all of them have developed small chips in the rim.Whether the chips are a deal breaker for you or not is up to you. If you're not hosting dinner parties or can overlook some chipping on the rims, then these are nice simple plates that work fine for casual dining.

I love these plates, I use them as chargers under my 8" luncheon plates and they look awesome. I highly recommend these plates A++++
