Such a good book, it is a must-have in your home library, regardless of whether you are a Buddhist or not. This modern translation manages to pass the messages to the reader in a straight-forward way.I wish though there was a hardcover copy as well.

The book content is really good. But the book did have scratches around the edges.

Unbelievably Fresh & Lively
I am very much familiar with the material, as I own the Tibetan original and have offered a condensed version of the text to the German reader, published in 1986 as "Verrueckte Weisheit". Naturally, I also have perused extensively and repeatedly through Garma C.C. Chang's previous translation, which was precious to me. This rendering, however, tops it all. It remains truthful to the letter and the spirit of the Tibetan original & the great yogi's enlightened intention, while at the same time presenting them in a modern idiom to which the reader can relate - even more than that: Milarepa becomes alive. It is as if he is saying all of this, at least this is what I can hear. For anyone interested in the practice aspects of Buddhist yoga and its everyday application, I can only recommend this book highly. It is a cherished addition to my library.
