C429-012 11/4 COUPLING

I did not read very well the reviews. This is a NORMAL coupling that you can buy for less than a dollar in any big box store. IT WILL NOT SLIDE OR SLIP FREELY BETWEEN TWO PIPES. You have to remove the center stop, which is the same work you will do with any 1' pvc coupling. I bought the cheap ones at the hardware store, removed the center ridge with a drill and a conical bit. Then, I sanded it (inside) with 150 sandpaper till the pipe will go through snugly but not too loose. I slid it completely over one of the pipes, leaving space to put a slow setting glue (GORILLA PVC R08000 PVC Glue 8 OZ, Clear, or Gorilla Clear PVC PrimaGlue 4oz. both from Amazon) on the exposed end of the pipe. Then, slid the coupling over the glue area to connect and slide over the other, pre-glued pipe (across) to make a bridge or coupling. Worked like a charm! Why don't they make snugly fitting non-stop couplings? Who knows. They are ideal for hard PVC in non bendable situations.

I bought these to slip/slid over an 1 1/2” pipe that I can’t move/flex enough to use a standard coupling.There is (as stated in a previous review) a ridge inside these, and even without the ridge, these couplings do not slide onto a 1 1/2” pipe. They bind up on the pipe. I guess I’ll have to dremel the ridge, and the inside of these so they slide onto the pipe.Expensive 1 1/2” standard couplings, not worth the aggravation of sending back.

I bought two sizes , 1 1/4" , 1". The marks on the fittings are 1 1/4", but the inner diameter is 1 5/8" and mark is 1" , but the inner diameter is 1 1/4". Fortunately I can use these inner diameter 1 1/4". I will not return as waste money and time , but not feel good.

It has ridge inside the middle of the pipe, you can not use this to repair a broken pipe as easy.

I should or read the reviews, same complaint. it's a regular coupling not a slip coupling. Someone at their warehouse does not know the difference I guess.
