Built like a tank!!
Built to last! The 5.0Ah. is a solid battery option for big jobs. i use it for my EGO leaf blower. i admit it is a bit heavy using it on large leaves area to blow and will require changing hands due to the weight. Beside the weight it is very easy to load and remove from the blower. 5.0Ah. is very powerful and will get the job done.

Worth the extra money
Despite the fact that I have a lot of experience with LiFePo batteries I thought I'd try one of the much cheaper Chinese replacements for the 7.5 AH Ego Power battery. Here's what I learned. The original, now five-year old battery that came with my Ego lawn mower when new was beginning show its age. I was no longer able to mow both front and back yards with just one full charge. Then, the mower's battery indicator would flash red even before finishing just the (larger) backyard. That said, these batteries should last MUCH longer. Current LiFePo chemistry is good enough that we should reasonably expect at least several thousand cycles before reaching a theoretically diminished limit of 80% of original capacity. Unlike older battery chemistries LiFePo battery packs typically deliver a consistent level of energy until nearly exhausted when they suddenly fall off a cliff and the built-in Battery Management System, (BMS) shuts everything down to protect the cells from further damage. So, five years is way short of these typical expected lifetime values. I got about half of what I expected especially when using the Ego Power battery charger. I wouldn't care so much about the failure to deliver the expected performance, but these batteries are not cheap! With this in mind I didn't feel like I owed the Ego Power people my continued business. Going all-electric was supposed to save a few dollars on fuel over the typical gas-powered mower we all grew up with, right? Instead, any savings I was supposed to get by being oh-so cool and environmentally-concerned was wiped out when I only got half of what I expected from the battery. What did I do? First I bought a 6.0 AH Chinese knock-off on Amazon. It looked just like the Ego-branded battery, but slightly smaller in size and weight as expected. I incorrectly assumed that 5-6 years of improving battery technology might work to my advantage and the labeled AH difference might be a wash. Yes, a lower capacity battery module at 6.0 vs. 7.5 Ah, but MUCH cheaper to buy than the equivalent 7.5 AH Ego Power-branded offering. I tested the the 6.0 AH the best way I should: by mowing the lawn! I had to wait a while to allow the grass grow enough to try the battery out. My un-scientific verdict was that this brand new advertised 6.0 AH battery was actually closer to 4.8 - 5.0 AH. Not even close to the advertised 6.0 AH. Thankfully, Amazon was good enough to accept my return even after a few weeks had passed. I've read all the comments about having the proper combination of Ego battery and the Ego charger. But all of these batteries, including the Chinese knock-offs, are assembled with their own built-in BMS's. Fact is, LiFePo batteries could care less about being charged by a special LiFePo charger since the battery's own BMS regulates everything about the charging/discharging process internally. Ultimately, I bit the bullet and forked over for the new Ego Power-branded 7.5 AH battery knowing that while it seems to have the same amount of power I need to do the job, it will probably not last as long as it should. This is an issue which Ego Power and all its competitors need to address. All that said, the durability and overall build quality of all my Ego Power products are excellent. I look forward to trying out whatever new products they come up with.

Lighter weight & quicker charging than older version
Been using ego leaf blower for years now. I have at least 3 of the older version batteries. I have a larger property & am surrounded by many trees. During Fall I have to go out at least 2x a week for a good 2hrs plus to leaf blow. I do thru about 4 batteries to do task. I purchased this new plus version & am happy w it. No, it does not last longer than old version, but is alot lighter in weight thus charges in half the time the older version does which is important to me in carrying blower all around & the need to have at least 4 batteries charged to do job w/o interruption. Also feel safer being new ones state they have better cooling system so it does not overheat. Great seller , priced less than reg hardware stores & received battery very quickly. .

Built in obsolescence, light weight, short battery power and overall lifespan
Ego has quite a racket going with these batteries. They are expensive, the 2.5ah doesn’t run long even on a blower, they have a lifespan of about 3-4 years and then you have to buy new ones. And when they are out of juice, they just quit with no warning. For the price Ego charges for their batteries you’d think some sort of audible sound or vibration could be produced when 10% power is left. They do charge relatively quickly when new but that doesn’t last either. With age comes “charging arthritis” and eventual replacement. This is a personal observation from empiric experience with the 2.5ah and 5ah batteries. They seem to know when the user is at the farthest point from their home to run out of juice. I use this battery on my Ego blower only and I have 2 Makita gas blowers for real work like thick wet fall leaf cleanup and other heavy duty cleanup. Overall this battery is OK but for me Ego batteries and tools are lightweight, residential tools for the non-mechanically inclined or those who dislike fossil fuel lawn tools.

Exceptional EGO quality
EGO quality. These batteries are powerful and last. They have a long manufacture warranty and is honored even when purchased through Amazon. I have a battery that is still going strong and is 7 years old, I keep 2 on hand.

Manufacture date about 9 months before purchased
Works well and is new as advertised. Brand new battery was securely encased in plastic. Very difficult to remove plastic casing- couldn't cut with scissors. Had to use box cutter. Battery was dated "January 2025". I was able to register product, but it took about 15 minutes.

Great Runtime, Noticeably Heavier
I bought this as a second battery for my EGO leaf blower. Living in New England, leaf cleanup in the fall can feel like a full time job, and having two batteries makes a big difference. The extra capacity is excellent and gives much longer runtime than the standard battery. Between the two, I can get all my yard work done without waiting on a recharge. The tradeoff is weight. This battery is noticeably heavier, and for smaller jobs I prefer using the lighter, standard battery. For big cleanup days, though, this one is absolutely worth it.

La batteria è arrivata in tempi brevi, ma vedendo la data di produzione ho visto che ee' stata prodotta ben 2 anni fa e questo credo che incida sulle prestazioni.
