The look of surprise on his face was wonderful. Well
I adopted a high-strung psychotic show jumping horse a little over a year ago. He was 19 years old, had been shown vigorously for 12 years, and was being retired due to his age. He was actually rather dangerous. He regularly bit or struck at the stable help, grooms, trainers, anyone within reach. He needed a new life, with no stress, no loud music or crowds, and a couple horse buddies to grow old with under our shady pasture trees. Yes, his behavior was challenging. And I'm not a trainer or horse psychologist. Although he didn't seem to know what treats were, I kept shoving them under his nose (and watching my fingers). Every time he would snake his head out to bite, I'd shove a cookie in his mouth. Every time. I had pockets full of horse cookies, and I bought them by the tub. The look of surprise on his face was wonderful.Well, he has calmed down a great deal over this last year. He is actually a sweet guy, loves to be brushed, and is very good for the farrier and vet. He hasn't bitten anyone for months, and he doesn't strike any more. He meets me at the pasture gate, and races me to the stables for meals. When mealtime is over, he follows me out to the hay pads in the pasture. And puts his nose to my pocket for his nighttime treat.Which is this exact peppermint cookie. He adores them. He chews his cookie slowly and thoughtfully, and I hug his neck, and kiss his forehead, and tell him goodnight. He gets other treats during the day; carrot slices, pieces of apple or pear, other types of horse cookies. He has learned to like them all. But this one minty cookie is his absolute favorite. Head and shoulders above the rest.If your horse has never had these before, I'd recommend getting a small package. One of my horses does not like peppermint, and I pry out the little candy mint before I give it to him. One of my horses is so old (32 years old) that he has few teeth left, cannot chew the little candy mint, and I cut his cookie into little pieces for him to suck on. And yes, I eat the little candy mints that two of my horses do not eat. <huge grin>

I've never seen my horse so happy as when he is just about to get his Minty Muffin. These are great treats; really the best I've ever found. The horses find the texture difference interesting: the molasses-cookie like muffin part with the crunchy peppermint in the center causes them to look very philosophical as they chew. Barn mates testify they look good enough for human consumption but we have not tested that and I hope we don't. Highly recommended.

Your horse will go crazy over this
Well, my horse loves it. I don't recommend it to humans. When my horse Caleo first tasted this, he went nuts and started searching my pockets: "Hey, my human, do you have more of that stuff? It's unbelievably good." Just a warning, it is so good, your equine friend might get just a little demanding!

Horses love them 🏇 ❤️
The horses love these! As soon as they smell the bag I bring them in they go nuts. Keep them in a cool place. They will stick together if they are stored in warm temperatures. Well with the money spent! Just ordered the larger container!
