When I decided to buy it it was like "ok, one more gadget that I'll use for a couple of days and then donate to the thrift store."Nope!THe Disposal genie surprised me under all aspects. It's exactly as described, but the product sturdiness and quality are way better than I was expecting. It's inexpensive and BRILLIANT!It fits perfectly (and even with some pressure to keep it correctly in place) in my In-Sink-Erator disposer. Water flows actually faster, because the disposal genie keeps the disposer's rubber splash guard more open, allowing water to flow faster.When you want to close the drain, just twist (first uses it's very hard, but it softens in little time and gets the ideal pressure). I tested it keeping my sink full OVERNIGHT and it didn't drain (this is better than the stainless steel stopper that came with the disposer). When you want to drain, just twist the top and "adiós" water.One additional feature that the manufacturer doesn't mention but I discovered it quickly is the visible colored parts when the disposal genie is placed in the drain (the curved fins and the center "button") actually help creating a flat surface that is a continuation of the sink bottom, so now I no longer have that annoying situation with glasses "falling" in the drain, tilting and breaking.I'm entirely in love with this product.Oh, and the spatula on the bottom is smooth as a squeegee, not too flexible but not too hard... just perfectly ballanced. It's great to "wipe" food leftovers from plates and it also hels drying the sink borders, as it acts exactly like a tiny squeegee that fits in small gaps.it also helps muffling the disposer noise.It may look silly, but it's a very clever invention that REALLY helps a lot.

The product is sturdy but needs to be a little more flexible. It is a universal fit and does the job.

From the first it seems like a simple sink plug, to move it at first it will be stiff to rotate it to stop the sink to hold water for washing and other tasks. The thing about it that impressed me is that it caught my ring when it slipped off and caught it the other day and I did not garbage disposal another 14k ring to its demise. I plopped in my pinkie rings and some big lug thug of a ring to show you. It catches them all. Look at the third pic for it. If you have size 1 or 2 finger it won't catch that. It catches all the weird kitchen implements from going in the disposer and big chucks of what-evers that end up in the sink. I like it. Not everyone will, I say if you wear rings and have them slip off doing dishes its nice to save rings with. I never thought about it when I bought it. It happened and is dang nice. Its got a few colors but I like blood red. You do you and pick from the four colors and be happy. Hope this helps. ciao to you for reading this.

Was unable to find a disposal plug the right size so decided to try this. Works great and no need to pull plug out. Just a twist to drain. Red seemed different in my white sink, but I’m embracing it. Love red, so why not. Now I wish they would make red for my other sink.

It prevents any silverware from accidentally going down the drain but you can get the small pieces of food down there. You can use the bottom to scrape dishes and this version twists to close so you can fill the sink. I already had one so I purchased one for my daughter when she moved into her new home. She loves it as she was worried about silverware. No worries now. It was a little tough to turn the first few times but I got it after a few turns.

I've had mine for years. Like it so much that I ordered some for friends friends

Works exactly as expected and looks good too. A must have for anybody with a garburator.
