Best phone on the market as of right now
Its a very fast phone with a long lasting battery that has more adaptability than ive had with any other phone. to buy an OTB cable for this thing is almost a need, to be able to move stuff from flashdrives/cameras/etc to the device or anything else is amazing. i can even plug in a xbox 360 wired controller and play games. On top of all that its the Active series, meaning its water resistant allowing to take it for runs in the rain and what not, then also its more durable, im a very active guy doing parkour and freerunning so its nice to have a phone that can hold its own, but then back to the side of me thats computer science having the processor to b able to keep up with speeds so i can control my desktop at home! AMazing product with amazonprime = two day shipping. best buy ever.

When i saw this phone I really liked it, But then i took it swimming
When i saw this phone I really liked it, But then i took it swimming. In the product description it says that the phone is water resistant, well that is not true. I took this phone swimming and everything was good until the battery got low. My phone just died, and wouldnt take a charge or anything. When i got home i soaked my phone and the battery in rice and the next morning it was working. Now that my phone is charged i can see the water damage on the screen. Since my phone has been on safe mode will not turn off. I am VERY displeased!

wow, what a piece of....
junk. okay, not all that bad. the good - big screen, clear bright colors, overall the images and the resolution is great. the bad - mainly the phone feature and then the "geek" factor in all of the silly options just to keep the techie freaks happy. i only needed a phone that works and is able to be stable during use. during a call the phone heats up real fast!, the keypad starts to jump around and zoom and zoom out on its own. if theres a need to hit certain keys during a call it sometimes doesnt let me since its zoomed in so much i can only see a few numbers to press. very frustrating and really, what is the basic feature of this gadget? A PHONE!. i updated the software hoping it would clear it up but nothing. i cant wait for apple to come out with its bigger screen this year. im "upgrading" to it as as fast as possible. the only reason i bought this phone was that the iphone didnt come out with a larger screen. now i see why apple is so popular. so many people poop on apple but their iphone at least is the best out there. i had the old 3gs and it worked perfectly, didnt heat up, USER friendly(very important). there are some of us out there who dont care about "developer mode". what a bunch of crap. i realize now that samsung is for the techie geeks who like to keep their fingers busy and the iphone is the least frustrating phone out there. two worlds of mobile phone users i guess.

It's amazing how far technology had moved in that time
After a long line of WinMo phones, I switched to the Motorola Atrix 4G at launch. Kept that phone for years until I got this one. It's amazing how far technology had moved in that time. The screen is bright, the phone is durable and fast, great battery life, etc. I'll probably be a Samsung fan as long as they keep putting microSD slots in their phones. My only complaint, which has persisted across android versions on this device, is GPS. I play an augmented reality game that is very dependent on GPS, and it seems to have problems initializing the GPS antenna. It's probably less noticeable with other less-frequently used applications, but I've noticed it happens with Maps and other location-dependent services as well. Usually this is fixed quickly enough by just toggling GPS off and back on after a few seconds, but sometimes the phone has to be rebooted. I contacted Samsung support about this and there was no resolution, other than what I just mentioned. That, coupled with all the bloatware that Samsung pre-installs, cost it one star. I don't like all the very invasive permissions these apps need, particularly considering I didn't even want them installed.Hardly a deal killer though. It's nice to see several of the concepts from the S4a become standard on the S5 (the IP67 rating, for example).

Charging port is broken and buttons stick down
The battery port isn't working properly. I tried using multiple charging cords to try to charge the phone, but nothing works. The volume and power buttons stick when I press them.Other than that, it works just fine.Just wish I would have gotten a phone that would friggen charge...

nice phone, love the dust proof / water proof feature
great phone. had the regular s4 when it came out and switched to this. im a carpenter and the dust proof feature is great for my line of work. plus having kids the water proof feature is great for when they get their hands on it...or around it in general. the phone, like all the large screen smartphones, will eat through a full battery like no ones business...the dimmer you can keep the screen the better, as well as turning off the gps when not in use.

Trouble With Cell Phone!
I can't rate this product. It did not charge but 30 if charged. The charging port was crooked I could not hardly get a charger in it. I bought 3 chargers. I paid 99.00 for it and was not worth 5.00. I would not rate it one but had to to write my review. I wanted to trade it they wanted phone first and I could not as I have 53 years diabetic and half to have a phone for emergency. I bought from j.p. mobile but I myself do not recommend them at all!

Home Button non responsive
[Update] Got the replacement device and the home button works fine.Issue:the physical/hardware Home button does not work properly.Had to click multiple times to engage. The menu and return hardware buttons work perfectly.Note that this is not the software delay where disabling s-voice improves the home button response. The Good:Decent build quality and has all the features I want(and more) in the phone.
