Color:Begant White An excellent introduction to Kawai’s portable piano line-up. Kawai has been crafting musical instruments for 90 years, maintaining traditional processes while embracing the very latest technical innovation. These decades of experience afford our engineers a wealth of knowledge from which to create stunning digital instruments, in a quest to perfect the art of the piano. The ES110 is the latest addition to Kawai’s highly respected series of portable digital pianos, combining our class-leading authentic keyboard action and piano sound technologies within a lightweight, affordable package. Featuring 88 grade-weighted keys, the ES110 keyboard responds just like a real grand piano, and is therefore an ideal choice for beginners seeking a starter instrument on which to learn. However, its realistic, acoustic-like touch will also appeal to more experienced players looking for a second piano for after-hours practice, or to simply enjoy a little music away from home

Bad action, but best sound.
Ummm, not really graded, heavier in the lows, same in the high notes. Weight action is very heavy, not like a real piano. It's more springy. Has very very noisy keys. Rebounds back very funny. Like a pogo stick. Look up on YouTube es110 key. You'll find videos of this problem. My background, coming from a vintage upright pianos and a Yamaha grand piano.I know that no digital piano will feel like a acoustic.I've had the privilege to play , Yamaha 115 Yamaha 45, all casios, korg b1, dgx 660, Roland fp30 and many more from my local music shop. Went there for days testing each one.Best sounding was the es110 .Best key action = Roland fp30 hands downALL Yamaha and ALL Casio not even close acoustic hammer action. But many reviews say its like a real piano , that's the most confusing part .I just kept this piano because, 1. Tired of returning stuff on amazon. 2. It does sound good 3. Will get used to the heavy action over time. 4. Good resale value. 5. Good features.

Very good entry-level DP, sweet sounds!
Very high-quality sounds, good action, fast response, it doesn't have USB port, but you can use the MIDI standard port, line-out it's a very welcome option, the other instruments or voices are superb too, built in speakers are very good, but obviously better through headphones or connected to a external sound system, matte keys add some grip, some minor issues like irregular space between keys and some keys produce a different noise (with sound off) than most, but it is not annoying nor does it affect the piano itself, I guess, the most similar product is the Roland FP30, for some people it's better, in my case I can't try both, Kawai and Roland, indeed Kawai is my first DP, if you have the chance to try both in a store, excellent, but if not, I recommend Kawai, probably the sound of Kawai is more sweet and more classical, not as "metallic" than others and have the new RHC (responsive hammer compact) action, more similar to Grand Pianos, but more lighter than Roland based on people opinions in forums, in conclusion, I'm very happy with my new DP, it's very satisfying to play on it, for practice or playing sweet songs, highly recommended.

Great for a Serious Piano Student
Over the past several months, I tried the 88-key weighted action keyboards from Roland, Yamaha, Casio at various stores. I wanted something that was as close to an actual grand piano as possible. I choose the Kawai ES100 because it has (in my opinion) the best action of the under $1000 models. The sound is very lifelike. I fortunate enough to heard a play-off between the Kawai ES110, the Yamaha P-115, and the Roland FP-30. They did this behind a curtain, along with a Steinway Baby Grand. The Kawai ES110 sounded the closest to me.I think the ES110 is a great value for a serious student. You should really practice on a graded weighted keyboard and with this one you could transition to playing a large grand and have almost the same feel. The sound is extremely close to an actual grand piano, and you can half-pedal with a fairly accurate sound (many under $1000 keyboards don't have this feature).

A pianist's keyboard
Absoutely a "pianist's keyboard". No need for the screen and multiple odd sounds. Has a metronome and plenty of normal keyboard sounds. The every note sampling makes a great sound. Several types of pianos allow customizing for different pieces. the touch is terrific for a keyboard--light sensitive, easy to voice. Harpsichord and organ stops are good and handy. the recording is very easy and a great aid to practice. Earphones disconnect the internal speakers nicely and allow practicing anytime. the front jacks for the earphones make their use very handy. Only two small problems, the pedal slides around with use. Maybe a sticky pad on the bottom or better get the 3-pedal option. and very rarely there is a strange sounding note (softer or more abrasive?). Maybe it is my old ears !

Good for the price if you like the Kawai sound
I've been playing this keyboard for about six months now. Here are some thoughts from an "advanced beginner:"Pros:1. Wonderful piano sound. I'm a big fan of the Kawai concert grand sound and it's the main reason I went with it over its competitors. To me, it sounds amazing and I get goosebumps listening to myself play on it. The other sounds are okay to play with occasionally.2. Good key action for price.3. Easy to move around since it doesn't weigh much (unfortunately, this also means that it's easy for it to shake a bit while playing).Cons:1. Key action is a bit noisy compared to more expensive keyboards.2. The matte finish of the keys and keyboard make it look a bit cheap to me. It is a very subdued look.3. The speakers are okay but sound a bit muddy in the low-end. I use headphones most of the time and they work well.Overall, I recommend this keyboard for the price. Is it better than other pianos under $800? Hard to say. I'm satisfied with it for sure though.

Terrific Piano!
Many people think that this is the best digital piano you can buy for under $1000. Kawai did it right for this instrument. They gave it a sensational grand piano sound and a very responsive action. Those are the two most important factors, and this is where Kawai supplied quality. The interface, on the otherhand, is usable but primitive. There is no LCD and only a few dedicated buttons. You can do everything you need to do, but you will need to keep the manual handy. You make changes by holding down one of the dedicated buttons and pressing a particular key.You will also want to get a decent pair of speakers or use a good pair of headphones. The built-in speakers are as good as any in this class, but they don’t do the excellent internal sounds justice.Generally I am delighted with this instrument. Kawai did a terrific job!

It stopped working after 2.5 months. Choose a different brand.
Instrument worked great for about two months. Then, the F, A, and C# keys stopped producing noise everywhere on the piano. The instrument is essentially brand new and barely played. What a piece of junk!
