High value automation / measurement device for hobbyists
1) Above average documentation in the box with the item, and in this listing (dimensioned drawings for those designing the brackets in CAD - thanks, seller).2) All the basic circuit options available under "color" - TTL (aka Line Driver), Push-Pull, Open Collector3) Good range of PPR available4) Runs smooth5) Good amount of shielded cable with pre-stripped tinned endsI got the 100PPR 5V TTL version to use as a tachometer for TouchDRO. Works great, right in the comfort range of the control board above 1kHz directly driven off a VFD driven 1800rpm motor, well below the rated RPM of the device (3000rpm).We'll see how it holds up long term, but I'm very happy with it so far. Make sure you know which circuit you need and what pulse count you want before ordering. Highly recommend, and will probably purchase again.

Very Well Made Product as expected.
Got the product on time and was packed individually in a box with specifications and very long wire leads. The product is very well made has ball bearings for the shaft. The shaft did not have any play in it. Also the shaft was flatten on one side to work with anchoring screw for shaft coupler. Would buy again for higher resolution encoder.

Great for the price. Would buy again.
Pretty good quality, especially for the price. I ofcourse took it apart to inspect, it has a pretty clean laser cut aluminum encoder wheel, and gasketed enclosure. The bearing is not gasketed, just sheilded, so I wouldn't trust this thing like submerged or anything, but cutting fluid etc will be fine. The scope graph shows a sharp peak at each edge of the squarewave, but using a voltage divider, an Atmega328 doesnt seem to care. Doubt it would bother any other system.

DOA + not as described
This is not an optical encoder, but some type of Hall effect encoder with significantly lower resolution than advertised. Mine did not work and appeared to have burn marks on the PCB and missing SMDs.

High quality manufacturing. Works fine.
Does exactly what I expected! High quality product. Smooth operation. Nuff said?

Item description wrong
To make a long story short, yes the encoder worked fine and was good quality. Now that would be fine and dandy if I wasn’t sent the wrong one. The title for the item explicitly said that the encoder took 5-24V, but I received one that took 8-24v. I still tested it from a bench supply to see if it worked, which it did. However, I needed this encoder for an arduino project, and arduinos only supply 5V max. Hopefully the seller updates the product listing soon, this was a disappointing buy.
