I saw this on a deal and figured it would be a good idea.It is a cool gadget that may work to scare off intruders entering the home through the front door.I was concerned maybe it wouldn’t work right or alarm falsely if the gap in the door is too wide.We tried it today and it is pretty cool. The noise is likely enough to deter an intruder to go to elsewhere as it’s unexpected. It alarms when triggered until you close the device’s prongs.I can see this being used for hotel rooms and dorm rooms as the package indicates. Maybe even for children or adults who sleepwalk to wander to alert parents and caretakers.Small and seems easy to carry during travel.I’m happy with the device particularly because I nabbed it on sale a few dollars less.

I took this out of the package and it wouldn’t stop going off. The only way to disable the alarm was to remove the batteries. A total waste of money, so disappointed!!!! I really wanted this!

I was concerned that the 'blades' had to be touching for the unit to work, so I tested it at home to find that the 'blades' do not have to touch just not be open fully. I guarantee you will not sleep through this alarm. It gives a very secure feeling knowing this little item is guarding your hotel room door. By the way, it is much smaller than I was expecting.

Recommended by Paranoids everywhere ! Just slide the thin blades (while holding them together) into the crack between the door and the door frame. The loop of the wires goes on the door handle to keep it from falling. Then arm the device. No one gets in without you knowing about it. And it's got an LED flashlight built in too. This goes on trips with us and is sometimes used at home.We bought several of these, we call them "SCREAMER"s. Cause that's what they do when you open the door. It'll scare the crap out of you if the wife forgets to remove it from the front door before you arrive home from work. Don't ask me how I know that.

I have two of these and they are amazing. The loop goes around the door handle and two thin metal prongs go in the crack of the door. If the door opens even a little, the prongs are separated and it lets out the loudest, most obnoxious wailing sound in the history of the world. Great for a single girl traveling on her own!

This product works well for the intended purpose. Blades similar to tweezers are install in the opening between the door frame and door. The loop is long enough to allow it to be placed around a door knob or door handle. It will not keep someone from coming into your room, but the alarm is loud enough to discourage an intruder or awaken you. I am an older female and recently used this in two different hotels rooms. It gave me an extra feeling of a bit more security for a reasonable price.

I really liked this product. Easy to use, travel with, move from door to door. Very loud alarm. BUT I have been through 6 of them already and they are only lasting a couple of months. The alarm ends up not turning off after a short time using it. Also the cord breaks off that is attached to alarm insert. Moving on to another brand as it is getting expensive to keep purchasing them.

I was broken into in Tuscany. This time I went back to Europe with this one. I slept much better. It's very simple to install. Easy to carry. Can be used for the door or window.

I bought this but it only fits on very specific types of doors. I would say there is a 50% chance that it will not work on the door where you want to use it. Worse still were the terrible instructions (I learned how to use it by trial and error), it seems the instructions were in another language and the english text is bad and on a piece of paper the size and feel of a cigarette paper which is probably why i discarded it at first and had to then wade through the bin to hunt for it when i thought the instructions were not to hand. A waste of money.

Small and it works ...

The alarm sound is comparable to your basic household fire alarm so I think it is definitely loud enough! Scared the crap out of my dog when I tested it! The box is smaller than I expected which is actually not a bad thing. Simple little doohickey and I do feel safer staying home alone overnight. Fits my interior bedroom door perfectly.

I bought this to monitor doors because of a dementia patient who occasionally wanders. The products mounts easily into the door jamb and has a siren that you definitely will hear if the door is opened when you do not expect. The sound is loud but not painful. I think this could be very handy if there are small children in the home who might wander too.

This was purchase for my husband to use when he travels. On most hotel doors it will work but on some doors there is bigger space between the door and frame. He did problem solve this by putting a folded piece of paper between the travel alarm clip and door frame.
