Sal Gabrini 6: His House of Cards (Sal Gabrini Series)

This story had so many twists and turns that even when it ended, I was like, "OMG!". I knew it was coming. I know it has to happen. But I don't think I'm ready! You have to read the story to see what I'm talking about because I refuse to spoil it for you.Sal and Gemma were my favorite couple until they were dethroned by Mick and Rosalind (and that remains); however, I really love them! Mallory Monroe really brought the action, intrigue, passion, and love with this story! I've said this in another review, and I'm going to repeat it here; I really think this author takes the time to read our reviews, and she takes note of the things that really irk us, which is one of the reason that I am so devoted to her. There have been three (3) things that have bothered me (and some other reviewers), about the Sal and Gemma series: - First, the whole is he or isn't he a mob boss was getting tiresome. - Second, Reno's infatuation with Gemma crossed the line for me. I can understand him finding her attractive; however, his behavior in the last book or two had me fuming. I need all my couples to ride/die for each another and no one else. - Lastly, Gemma had a backbone when we met her, but little by little, she was losing some of that strength that we loved. I thought that she and Sal would end up with a relationship like Mick and Roz, but she kept bending to Sal's will one to many times.Well I'm very happy to report that all three (3) issues were finally addressed in this book! I truly believe that the conclusion of those things are going to make Sal and Gemma's story that much better because they can now move on to the next chapter in their story; a chapter that I suspect is going to be as explosive as ever!I have to admit that there was a point where I questioned whether Mallory Monroe was losing some steam with these series (specifically with the Brent Sinatra book), but she proved me wrong. The last two Mick Sinatra books and this Sal Gabrini book are some of her finest writing yet! This story was great from the first page, and when it concluded, I was happy and on edge at the same time!! Awesome read, Mallory Monroe!!!

I didn't know what to expect, but as much as I admire Miss Monroe's books, if she had broken up another couple like she did Tommy (my favorite Gabrini), I was prepared to stop reading her books. If I'm going to spend my money, then I demand happy endings in my reading material and that's what I received until Tommy. But being a believer in second chances, I tried again with the Sinatras and have enjoyed what she's done so far with them. With this book I could hardly wait for the end to see if Gemma was going to hang in there. On the other hand, I didn't want it to end because then I'd have to wait for approximately a month for another. So., Miss Monroe, you rocked with this book and if you keep these couples in love with each other and handling their problems TOGETHER, then no matter what crazy situations, you put them, I'm a fan for life.

I haven't written a review in quite awhile. But this book caused me to take the time.Thank you Mallory for reinforcing the strength behind the love between Sal and Gemma. Even when we couldn't be sure if this was going to be or not, the resilience of their relationship shined through. Also, thank you for reminding us that the foundation of Sal and Gemma's relationship is love, trust and honesty.OMG, the date night attire!!!!! I don't want to spoil the surprise for those who haven't read it yet. I read this book over 24 hours ago and it still causes me to laugh out loud.The twists and turns and surprises in this book just keep coming. Just when I thought there couldn't be more there was. For those who have been following the Gabrini series particularly Sal, you won't be disappointed. For those who are new to the series, enjoy the ride.Thank you Ms. Monroe for bringing Sal and Gemma back and hinting at the possible merger of books between the Gabrini clan and the Sinatra clan.Game on everybody. Game on!!!

Mallory Monroe is the only author that I automatically "one-click" when a new book is released. This is simply because I KNOW with all certainty that she will not disappoint. Like many reviewers have already mentioned, I believe Mallory reads the reviews and really takes into consideration the feedback provided - because she always addresses the concerns! Sal and Gemma are still one of my favorite couples. I love how Gemma showed she still had a backbone and as much as she loved Sal - would not take any crap off him. There were several twists and turns in this book and I can see how with the introduction of some new characters that the next book will have readers on their toes again! I sure hope though, that Mick and Sal can resolve their issues and Sal can have a relationship with his son (yes, I did say son but you'll have to read to find out more)! Nice Job Ms. Monroe - you have a FAN for LIFE!!!

Well another great read by Mallory Monroe, this Sal book took a turn that is exciting but coming books will pit two of my favorite Monroe characters against each other!!!!! I hate that Mick the Tick and Salvatore will come to blows about Mick's sister and Salvatore mother. I had hope that Reno explaining that Salvatore had no choice but to shot his mother!!!! I hope Mick's brother Charles can get Mick to not try and kill Salvatore!! Great book and as always waiting for next book!

SPOILER ALERT!! I JUST HAD TOO:(I believe I have said it all before...WOW!! OMG!! and all the best adjectives you can think of to describe one of the best books ever. His House of Cards had it all. Love, happiness, loyalty, lies, romance, forgiveness and I could keep going. Buy the book you will not be disappointed. Really quick, Monroe brought closure to some things (Reno/Gemma), Sal's business (he came clean), Fran (Reno/Sal's sister) and opened a whole lot of other issues (Mick & Rudy, JR). Lets just say that I don't think this is the end of Sal's saga.I hate that it is over.Happy Reading!

Another winner from Ms Monroe, for sure. Sal Gabrini certainly went up a notch or two in my estimation in this book. I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but wow, the trials and tribulations that Sal and Gemma continued to encounter had my heart in my mouth. Not many couples would survive the types of things they went through! Some of the stuff they went through, I thought that Ms Monroe was angling for another failed Gabrini marriage. I found myself rooting for them, and they weathered the storm and came out the other end. Sal's love for Gemma knows no bounds and Gemma reciprocates it fantastically.The appearance of Rudy, Sal's teenage son threw a serious spanner in the works. I take it we're to expect a story around him soon. He sounds to me like he's going to be a real piece of work. Quite how Ms Monroe will put a romance spin to it, I'm not sure. But I'm sure she'll work it out!

OMG this book is intense and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Even now I cannot relax because the ending has me on edge too!!! Some real shockers at the end!!!I am going to try to review this book without giving anything away you have to read it for yourself. Sal and Gemma's marriage gets tested in a big way!!! Sal does make a mistake that costs him. There are twists and turns and surprises. This book is intense and packs a punch for a book under 200 pages. This was some riveting stuff. I dropped everything else I was reading to get to this one and it was worth it!! What a ride.Highly recommended!
