Electronics and water don't mix, so the Burton Upslope 28L Backpack is carefully designed to keep incompatible items separate. This backpack has a laptop compartment, fleece-lined tablet sleeve, waterproof roll top closure, and a separate bottom wet/dry compartment. Reflective accents and bike light attachment points come in clutch, especially during the shortest days of the year.

Lots of space, Convenient laptop access, Great style
I use this bag mostly for travel, and between the pockets, the shoe compartment and the main compartment this bag can hold a lot of stuff. The zipper to access the laptop pocket without having to open the bag from the top adds a lot of convenience. I specially love having that feature when going through airports. However, trying to fit a 15.6 inch laptop through the zipper seems to be a little difficult. A 14 inch laptop fits in effortlessly. You can still use the compartment to hold a larger laptop and access it from the top.I haven't used it long enough to be able to say much about the durability but so far the bag feels very sturdy. The padded back makes it easy to carry the bag on my back for extended periods of time with ease.I have received a lot of compliments for the bag and would recommend Burton to my friends.

Perfect Backpack for 15.4” Laptop, Gym Gear, and Other Personals
I was looking for a comfortable and well-made backpack that would fit my 15.4” laptop, gym gear (with a separate section for shoes), and other personals. This fit the bill perfectly.I like that you can access the main compartment from both the top and side of the bag. And I especially like that you can reach your laptop from a zip on the side - ideal for going through airport security. There’s also another section at the front of the bag with two mesh pockets for smaller items like keys, wallets et al.If I absolutely had to nit-pick, the only downside is that’s it’s not “stylish” enough that I’d feel comfortable bringing to a nice bar/restaurant after work. But that’s such a minor niche issue. In saying that, I would be the first to buy a black leather version of this bag.

You're Do-It-All Bag
I did as much research as one could probably do in regards to buying a new backpack, plus I've tried them all from Osprey to Northface. This backpack is EXTREMELY versatile, and out of any of the packs I've owned, this is my favorite. Commuting, hiking, going to the beach, traveling, working out, & etc... you name it, this bag is ideal for it.

Wish it would have worked
This was a great quality bag, but didn’t work for what I needed it for. Returning was easy.

Nice styling and capacity. Durable material and waterproof bottom compartment
This 28 liter capacity backpack is really nice and has some interesting details. There are two side zipper pockets with a mesh pouch for small things, like keys or a wallet. The waterproof pocket on the bottom adds durability and stability and can hold smelly or wet things. It's not big enough for ski boots or snow boots. Boot liners would fit.Main compartment can be accessed without unrolling the top which is a bonus, however the side laptop pocket cannot sideload a 15 inch laptop. A 13 inch would fit. A 15 inch however would have to be put in by unrolling the main compartment from the top. There's a second smaller sleeve in the main compartment that can't be accessed from the side and another mesh pocket on the inside of the main compartment. There's two magnets which close the main compartment before rolling it up, which is a nice touch.Would prefer metal clips rather than plastic for the outside waist and chest straps, but that might defeat the outdoor feel of the pack. The straps and padding fairly basic. The waistbelt isn't padded and the chest strap is too low at highest adjustment, especially for women. There are a few gear loops in the middle of the back which are halfway hidden for a sleek look. The whole thing is made of very tough fabric, almost cut proof (didn't want to try too hard), with YKK zippers which are always high quality. Another nice detail is the knot at the end of the zipper pulls.Overall this is a great pack but due to the side loading limitation won't be my go-to commuter backpack.

High-quality, completely water-resistant backpack
This is a very well-made, good-looking and high-quality backpack. It easily fits a 15-inch laptop with lots of room for additional storage. It would be great for a carry-on hand-carry bag for a trip where you have to lug a lot of items.I have tested it in considerably heavy rain. The internal compartments remain dry as long as you have properly zipped it.The back of the bag (the part that goes on your back) is hard and flat, with gel-like material to make it even more comfortable to wear it for extended period.Overall, this is a great backpack for the everyday commuter (if you are looking for a backpack that is roomy), or for traveler that needs good sized carry on bag as hand carry.

Looks great and lugs a lot of stuff - would be at home both on campus and on the slopes
This is a very versatile and well made backpack that is built to last and looks great. You could use it to carry a computer and equipment around classes as a university student, but it would work just as well as a day pack for rugged outdoor use.The material itself is water resistant, and it also protects the zippers from allowing water in. So if it is raining or even snowing your stuff would be protected. (I haven't tried, but I'm pretty sure that water resistant doesn't mean you can use it on a scuba dive .... still I've been outside in a rain storm and nothing inside got wet.)It will store a 15 inch laptop and you can take it out easily. It will also store a lot of other stuff. Plus, it looks great.

Lots of great details
I like the clean look of this backpack. I have several backpacks that have foldover tops like this one, particularly for the summer and going on and off the boat. Some of those seal completely and will definitely continue to be my favorites, but this one will work in wet and cold, because it will protect a laptop from rain and storms. It is possible to get into the large front compartment without exposing a laptop.I like the bottom compartment for shoes. It is also pretty padded on the bottom and protected. This seems like a backpack with an identity crisis. It wants to be rural but it is a city slicker.
