Price was good and is working great

As the title mentions this works and cheap what else could you want. The screw is not available in the box so make sure you retain the original screw from the macbook. At least now this macbook air can keep living. This is why we should support right to repair only a bad ssd and this would have gone in the trash. Thumbs Up.

Works as described and is reliable. If you are expanding or replacing storage only trust OWC. Do not buy adapter to use nvme drives for use in a Mac. Catalina will break it so stick with OWC all the way

Bought the 500gb with external enclosure (SSD kit) for my MacBook Air Mid 2012 A1466. You don’t need the kit if you restore the content from Time Machine, but it’s nice to reuse the old SSD as an additional disk.The SSD and enclosure are of good quality. The supplied cable is also good but too thick and inflexible, making the lightweight enclosure hard to use. Also the cable does not fit in the supplied drive pouch.The pentalobe (P5) screwdriver was missing, which is necessary to open the back of the MacBook. The installation was very easy. Links to installation videos were in the printed material. Had they included the pentalobe driver as promised, it would have been a 5 star product.

So far so good. Now my Mid 2012 MacBook Air has new life. Along with "Patched Sur" I can now upgrade to Big Sur. One caution, when going through the instructions do NOT skip the step to format the new hard drive. I thought since I was cloning I could skip this. Follow all the instructions.

I have never had an issue with OWC parts. They are not always the cheapest, but they are designed for the job at hand and work.

Works as it should on a MacBook Air mid 2011. No problems.

I have used the same macbook air since I started university in 2012. Despite its age it was still plenty fast and capable for my needs (mostly web-based, word processing, lightroom and minor photoshop work). A couple of months ago however it started to act up and started crashing when viewing youtube or doing other tasks it had previously preformed without any problems. I had just changed the battery and I did not want to give up the laptop just yet. After a long time troubleshooting, I identified the probable culprit to be a faulty SSD, as the original SSD for my laptop was apparently part of a faulty batched that had been recalled back in 2013, but which I at the time was unaware of. After much consideration I bought this SSD. I have now been using it for some time and so far I have not encountered any problems. Installation was quite straightforward, easy even for beginners. Upside is that I now also doubled my original SSD capacity and it feels a bit snappier than it used to (although this might also be because I removed a lot of bloat when reinstalling my files) It is quite expensive in comparison to normal ssd's but I suppose the proprietary connector adds some extra costs to production. Overall would recommend as it can really breath new life into old hardware and save it from the landfill.

All fine. Installed Ubuntu and everything is ok.

Received in good time, fitted in a few minutes, no problems.
