The design is flawed.
I finally found it! I had no idea what this thing was called but after a lot of name calling, here it is! This item is a direct replacement for the original and just as another review states, I had to cut each of the loops to get the wires through them but then all that needs to be done is wire tie them to each other between each of the wire keeper assemblies to keep them in place and still allow for some movement as you open and close the slide. Now my only problem with this item is the reason that I have to replace it in the first place. My father bought his very high end 5th wheel a little over a year ago. It was brand new when he got it and while vacationing with him over the summer, I noticed that even his wire guide is beginning to break at the same spot. It has a dynamic mount on one side and a static mount on the other. That static mount is where they break and where this new one will break again in the future. It is a designe flaw that I have a quick easy remedy for. All that you have to do is leave the existing swivel mount in place and cut the existing, broken guide about 6" from the swivel mount. Then over lap the static end of the new one with the existing guide that you have cut. Make it about a 4" overlap and using a few machine screws and nuts attach them to each other. Then mount the new bracket to the end where the original static end was attached and the weak link is gone! You may never have to worry about this thing again!

Just what I needed
Exactly what I needed. This was a replacement so I tried to be cheap and get the single, but it was not the same. Reordered the double, and because it came as a kit, I believe I have solved this from Happening again. There is only one pivot so where the strap hooks to the fixed frameit practically folds to over when the slide comes in, no wonder it breaks, can't believe it lasted any time at all. I took the pivot that came in the kit, and modified it to clear a bolt, and attacked it to the frame, then turned the strap around, and spliced the two (old and new) together with (4) small bolts and nuts. The strapcan now pivot on both ends, so it should last a very long time now.

Poor design - both sides should pivot
Ordered as a replacement for a broken existing guard. The design is flawed in that the guard has a pivot end which moves freely but a flat end that is supposed to be tacked to the trailer's I-beam. Because this flat end is screwed directly to the trailer frame, it does not have any way to 'float'. This will cause the flat-end side to bend back and forth as the slide goes in and out - until the guard material breaks. (I suspect this was the problem causing the original guard to break.) My 'fix' for this design blunder was to keep the existing mounting bracket/pin in place and use it for the pivot side of the guard while I used the new bracket (supplied with this kit) and attached it to the trailer frame. Then used some cable ties through the flat side holes to hold it onto the bracket/pin. Now, both sides of the guard are able to move freely as the slide extends and retracts - this allows the necessary bending to occur along the whole length of the guard rather than only at the flat end - MUCH LESS stress on the material. To be sure, I will need to keep an eye on those cable ties because they WILL wear out - but I will gladly trade replacing a few ties every few years rather than replacing the whole guard.

Cheap Plastic Quality - lpi Direct Replacement Part
Exact Replacement for 2014 Redwood GK. It's a Lippert replacement part. Cheap Plastic Quality. Slide on Supports are cheap made. Very thin on the the support areas. Aluminum support rod is 6" to short in some applications and not strong enough to only be screwed in at the top. Lasts about 3-5 years depending on use. Difficult to replace/install due to removal of existing wiring (120V and 12V) , cables for TV, Propane lines and 1/4" ice maker lines and fittings. You'll need splice kits for the electrical. 120V/12V electrical lines may require replacement as they also deteriorate after 3-5 years - 14/2 SJOO Cord (20') 14/3 SJOO Cord (10') + butt slices and heat shrink. If you have an existing ice maker line, be sure to replace to avoid double work. We have (30 to replace. Each one takes about 6-8 hours to complete and several trips the store for "other" parts.

Not for the unskilled owner, forces the return to a dealer for repair.
This replacement part is not designed correctly for maintenance, it is a copy of a production component designed to build the cheapest item that during production it is installed with fuel lines and electrical lines running through fixed holes that cause unnecessary extensive work to use as a replacement part. The electrical cable would require modifications to run them through the holes. Or the molded sliding guides would require a modification to run the fuel and electrical wires through. The whole purpose for the component is safety protection for the fuel lines and electrical cables so damage during travel is reduced by having a flexible plastic barrier between the items coming off the tires and impacting the fuel and electrical cables. The floating guides should have a hinge and connection so they can be installed rather easy up like automotive industry uses for electrical and fuel routing situations that need to be guided and protected. The RV community is not being served well for this type of part, a piece of crap but necessary so who foots the bill the consumer.Lippert is part of the rip off.

Low cost, OEM quality and fast shipping
This is an item I never expected to find on Amazon. It seems that I need this support replaced every 4 or 5 years. I guess they just fatigue out with all the flexing in use. This one was a lot cheaper than what I've paid at RV stores and a lot of them don't even stock it but will order one for you.Now I know they're just 2 days away.
