Q: Can these be used for lap swimming?

Wax keeps out water better than other ear plugs. When our daughter was small and got frequent swimmer's ear, we blocked out the water effectively with wax and a swimming cap. The wax warms up and forms in your ear and creates a tighter seal than rubber or plastic. But you won't get as many uses out of it. The wax is a little gross when you take it out! Also, we know guys who use ear wax for surfing and they are obviously not using a swimming cap... I like wax for blocking out noise. It is more comfortable for sensitive ears.

Q: How many come in each pack? Is it just 2 or is it 24? For under $10, 2 seems expensive, but 24 send like way to good of a deal.

There are 12pairs (24 ear plugs in total), 6 in each box. The little travel box used to have a pair of plugs too but now it comes empty. Great plugs, it may take a little to get used to but, in my opinion, they are the best at covering noise. I've been using them for 15 years.

Q: Do theses cause wax buildup in the ear, especially they melt?

Not that I've ever experienced. Because I remove all the cotton packing which comes as original insulation around the plugs (keeps them from sticking together in the container), the resulting plug is very much wax. And I've never had a problem of it 'melting' even after wearing for a full night, and I've never felt any residue in my ears from using these plugs. Highly recommend them.

Q: I've ordered these ear plugs five different times. First two times the clear carrying case was included but last three times, it was not. What gives?

As far as I know only Group Medical Supply is the only Company that comes with the Clear Case with the Ohropax 2 pack
