The drive in my old winXP laptop died. I use the laptop for a legacy application, so I wanted to save the system if possible. This was an amazingly cost-effective solution and all worked well for me.When my old winXP laptop turned up with an error at boot, I burned a CD with an Slitaz iso to make sure the system was worth putting money into. (At 35mb Slitaz loads very quickly on older XP systems.) After finding that the OS would load and all systems resources on the laptop worked, I decided to purchase this drive since new drives cost MUCH more. This was an easy install. Burned a fresh (old) copy of winXP, and restored the laptop to factory specs.

I was rebuilding an old laptop computer that needed a new IDE HHD. I felt that for this slow and small a HHD this was costly. However I couldn't find any cheaper and I needed this. This computer never really worked well so I cannot say how well this drive worked. I don't believe there was anything wrong with the drive and I am sure these legacy drives may be getting harder to find, thus the great cost.

Very satisfied!. Works perfectly, no complains at all. Just replace an old hard disk of 40G with this one, and the old Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop (14 years old) run as new. By the way, I have 4 HP that cannot run smooth and with this quality of display. What a shame for HP (What's up with you guys?) and also for Dell because they are not supporting drivers for this incredible laptop anymore! Solid, robust, fast, confortable keyboard and incredible display's quality, with vendors relaible like this one, nothing else is needed.

Now this hard drive works pretty well. I bought it for my old laptop to continue to run some old games. It works really well now obviously it doesn't have a fast boot up being only an IDE and not say an SSD but it works. It runs well and not really too hot for an IDE drive. It was also easy to install into my laptop as well as my OS system which was Windows XP (I know it's old), but it is only real OS that can run my games. Overall the boot up speed is average for an IDE, it doesn't run hot, there is plenty of space for my games that are not too big in size. I really enjoyed this drive.

Installed in an older computer, this is just what I needed and worked fine from the start. Great deal and fast delivery.

This product came in my mail box. However it came damaged. The pins were bent, top left corner of the drive has a dent. But other than that. The drive somehow came working. I don’t blame the person that sold this. Rather I blame the mail man. The device surprisingly works 100%.

Works just fine in my old Dell D600 (Win XP, anyone?) I had to buy an IDE connector/adapter but that was my oversight, not the seller's.
