Carson TriView 3X/5.5X/8.5X Folding Loupe Magnifier with Built-in Case (TV-36), Black

I bought this to put on my keychain. It’s great for things like reading the fine print on pill bottles or examining jewelry. The lens is protected by retracting inside the housing. It has a couple of problems:1) The open button is too sensitive and it will pop open in your pocket. I solved this problem by filing down the button with a nail file so it’s not so easily triggered.2) The swivel attachment is made of pot metal and broke - see photo. But you don’t really need it, the key ring seems strong and reliable.So I’m happy with the product in spite of the problems.

The magnification levels are not labeled on the lenses, but otherwise it works great! Had fun examining tiny rock crystals with my face up against a granite boulder. Am now an entomology major but these will work just as well for looking at aphids!

This little handy magnifying glass is perfect to add to my keychain and doesn’t bulk up my pocket.I have an extra clip on it so I can easily clip it between my 2 sets of keys while I wait for another to come in.

Three different power magnifiers in one case. Very easy to use lenses are clear and can be used in tandem.

Had one of these as a kid. Glad to have it again. Nice magnification range.

I bought this for checking the edge of knives I'm sharpening. For that purpose, it works fine. It's not obvious what magnification each lens provides, but it doesn't take long to find the correct configuration by trial-and-error. I don't think it's a top-quality, family heirloom item, but for eight quid, it doesn't have to be. At this price, highly recommend.

Makes map reading a dream now. This is just what I needed a pocketable great quality magnifier. I was really struggling to navigate whilst out walking and needed a magnifier of some kind. Did loads of reviews and ended up with this Carson which is perfect for seeing on those OS maps the fine details that I can't quite make out. Nice size/weight, no batteries required, great quality piece of a kit in a small package.Life has just got that little bit easier after purchasing this.....

The smallest magnification works ok'ish. The other 2 don't work. Its like looking through a fish bowl. The lens are so curved like a fish eye lens you can only use the very middle. Which makes it useless as a tool to use whilst working. Just about usable to use as a inspection magnifying glass. The highest zoom is totaly unusable. Returned.

Very pleased with this loupe. I'm using it to check tiny soldering joints and the surface of coins. For my uses just the single lens using 5X magnification is perfect. The 10X and 15X lenses are there if you need them, but you need to get really close to the object with good illumination when using them, and for me the single 5X lens is totally practical for my needs.
