This is the greatest heat protectant I’ve ever used! My hair is very thick and very long, and using a flat iron on it is a challenge. My hair is bipolar, half wavy and half straight but frizzy, and if I don’t use the highest heat setting possible (450), I might as well not even bother. I have to do very small sections at a time, no more than 2”, and it takes for-ev-er. I use one small spritz sprayed into my hands to work it all the way through every one of those sections. That’s the only way the flat iron moves smoothly and quickly enough through each section to prevent burning my hair off my head. It’s liquid, but almost an oil-based liquid, if that makes sense - all other heat protectants I’ve tried are a very watery consistency, and the flat iron kind of jerks through my hair, almost like it gets stuck, so the hair gets burned. Oh, and it smells AMAZING (the product, not burnt hair, cause that smell is nasty!). The only issue I can think of with this product is that I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with thin/fine hair, I’d think it’ll make your hair really greasy.

My favorite heat protector. I have very full hair that requires flat ironing to lay flat. I used this and it helps. The smell is great and isn't overly oily. This is my preferred brand.

I am so impressed by this spray. My hair normally tends to frizz and freak out when I'm outside in the slightest bit of humidity, dry air, or really just at any time, because I've been cursed with the worst hair ever. No really. No one ever in my life has complimented my hair. That's just how it is. Well, I don't go to salons, which is due to bad experiences in my life, so I don't know about the latest and greatest products out there. I have used other heat tamers out there, but they tend to leave my hair feeling weird, and they never hold up in any type of weather. I decided to research and see if there was anything out there to help when I use heat on my hair, because once I turned 50, my hair started to fall out or break whenever I dared to try to make it look nice, despite other heat protector products I have tried. After hours of research, I decided to try this out and ordered it.After it arrived, my first experiment was trying it out with blow drying my hair. Normally after I dry my hair it is straw like and frizzy. After one try with this spray, it was silky and shiny. I didn't have to do more to it. I was done. So weird. But, I was feeling greedy, so I broke out the flat iron, sprayed some more on my hair, and well, it came out too straight and thin looking. So, note to self: I no longer need to use a flat iron or it will get too flat. So the next time I dried my hair, I used it again and decided that was it. I was done. My hair lasted through my sleeping on it and into the next day, even going outside in the heat and humidity! Normally it gets curly after I sleep on it (not nice curls), but no, it stayed straight, smooth, and shiny. I just needed to brush it and I was good to go. Now that is just plain cool. And guess what? My husband complimented my hair. =)I'm not sure yet how it does with a waver. That will be my next experiment and I will update this review after.8/14/2017 Update:So I tried it with a waver, and my hair wouldn't keep the curls. I tried using a heat protector hair spray by Paul Mitchell to see if it would hold the curl, but it still didn't and then I lost that shiny silky feeling this product gave my hair. I don't normally use a waver, and I doubt I will use it again. It was an old one I had laying around that I used once a long time ago. I am so happy with having my hair looking healthy and straight with Beyond the Zone and just a dryer, I'll just keep it that way for now.12/12/2017 Update:I found another purpose for this spray: I often like to braid my hair one day, after a shower while it is wet, and then wear it loose and wavy the next day. I recently started spraying this spray onto my wet hair, before braiding. What I have discovered the next day, after taking down the braids to wear my hair loose, is that it makes my hair appear thicker and keeps the frizz down. So this spray is not only good for the heat, but also for letting your hair air dry. Pretty cool.I do have one concern in regards to this spray, maybe more like an afterthought: I wonder if it is safe to breathe in? I try real hard not to, because I have asthma, but this spray is so very light as a mist it is hard to avoid.
