It is always a challenge to get mini twist drill bits at economical prices. Many vendors package mini twist drill bits in sets. But you rarely need a set--just a supply of one or two bits in particular. This is key because due to the fragility of these tiny bits, it is easy to break them and having a good supply on hand is important so that the modeling doesn't have to stop while waiting for a replacement bit.

Don't waste your money on these; spend a little more and get better quality--it makes the job much more enjoyable. I put one of these (a #80) in my pin vise and attacked a pre-marked hole on roughly .030" styrene. Twist twist twist twist, got nowhere. Then I looked at it under my Optivisor. No taper at the tip! In fact, it looked snipped flat off, as if you used a pair of diagonal cutters on it. Looking at the rest of the dozen, I found one (!) that seemed usable, and it worked OK, not great, and then it snapped in half with 8 of 24 holes still to go. I can't recommend these.

Spend a little more money and get yourself a better product. These bits snap like twigs, after placing one in my rotary tool I was testing to see if it was tight in the Collette with my finger and it broke off, that should have been a sign I broke 7 more in the same day just drilling .020 stencil material. I thought I was getting a bargain, because there were twice as many bits for half the price I was paying for my old bits, now I know why. Don't waste your time and money on them.

We bought these to drill holes in PVC pipe making a garden irrigation system. They worked well. As with any hardened steel, think brittle, bit of this minuscule diameter they are easily broken. That is why they come many to the package. Some hints to reduce breakage; Don't attempt to use the bits when tired, or otherwise less than 100% personal physical capacity, Work in a comfortable position on a sturdy raised work surface, put the bit as far into the drill chuck as possible and allow to drill as deep as needed, no further. These are good bits at a good price.

Bought these to drill out orifices for my bbq to convert it from natural gas to propane. Read other reviews of breaking the bits. These are small, make no mistake but I drilled 5 brass orifices with the same bit without a problem. I did get a micro chuck to hold them but used my cordless drill and held the orifice with vice grip pliers. I would say the others reporting broken bits are applying too much force.

I bought 2 packages (50 drill bits) because I needed to drill hundreds of holes in 1/8" thick steel and I expected them to break and not last long. To my surprise I drilled the first 60 holes with just one bit and no problems. I used a Proxon mini drill press (also from Amazon) at 4000 rpm and it all exceeded my expectations.

I got the #76 which is supposed to be .508mm...all 25 bits are 0.47mm

was pleased with the speed of delivery. The bits seem to break easily, however, the application we use them for is under severe conditions. we use them to drill out spray foam nozzles and we are in full PPE, usually in low light conditions. This could be instrumental in the breakage. I have one bit that is used in the shop for rebuilding the guns and I haven't broken it yet so I attribute the failures to rough handling.

Perfect, I was drilling PVC for a watering system, these went through it like it was butter, didn't bend or break a single bit, which is impressive considering how small these are
