I bought this to modify the original Grohe shower head for my aging parents (seniors). The shower head base connecting to the wall was non-standard so I could not replace it. Fortunately the base had a standard thread to allow workaround modifications including extension to make the shower head lower & reachable. Since they just needed the hand shower, I purchased the additional Moen Chrome Remote Dock which has worked really well just stuck to shower wall with no screw (cleaned the wall really well before sticking). There didn't seem to be an option to purchase the hand shower wand without the base which we didn't need. This is allowing us to not have the shower head drip on the handles after each shower. This helps the handles not spot up so bad. For full disclosure, I had to send the first one back due to a strange weld issue at the fitting that caused a leak in the end of the pipe through the metal. The replacement came the next day and works perfectly so it must have been a fluke.

The shower arm extension was very easy to install and now makes it easier to move the shower head to a level that actually showers me and not the wall.

Not my first purchase of one of these, just different color. They install easy, never leak, and now I can reach my handheld shower. And you really don't even notice the extension.

Wife couldn't reach the shower hose before. This extension brought it down enough so now she can remove the sprayer. Happy wife, happy life!

This shower arm extension was exactly what I needed. I was having trouble reaching the handheld shower unit without feeling like I had to use a small step stool. This extension is built well and it was so easy to install. It made a huge difference and now I don't have to curse when trying to take a shower reaching for the handheld shower component. I highly recommend this product if you are tired of having to stand on your tippy toes just to reach the shower head and handheld unit without the fear of slipping in the shower.

I bought the 6” extender in brushed nickel and it fits my shower pipe perfectly and without leaks. It is a quality product.

Bought 2 of these, 1 was easy to install, but the second was a little more difficult it leaked a bit. After couple of tries it stopped leaking. Just didn't want to torque the piping too much and break anything due to the hand held shower heads being plastic. Also didn't want to mark the piping even though I used a rag around the pipe.They work really well by dropping the shower head down that extra few inches. Glad to find these here cause I couldn't find anything in any hardware stores in my area.

What's not to like

My showerhead was atop close to the caddy that holds the shampoo bottles so I could not tilt it to the right angle. This extension pipe was the PERFECT solution! Would highly recommend!

Does what I wanted it for. No washers with it as said, but I'm happy with it even though it does leak a little
