Love Sally Hansen microwave wax is next best thing to going to the Salon
My husband had been making fun of me for 2 weeks about my eyebrows which he never noticed before ever. However, he noticed this time and kept saying I needed to wax because it looked like my eyebrows were about to reach out and grab him. So, of course I had to do something fast. I do both with going to get them done at a salon or doing it myself with Sally Hansen microwave wax. I have been using Sally for years so I am familiar with how to use it properly in a way that won't burn me or mess up my eyebrows. I usually buy it at Walmart or Walgreens but, with covid I don't go out much. So I opted to order from Amazon because they have everything. I ordered it and received it the next day. So happy for the convince. I put it in the microwave for 2 min. Then let it cool down to a very mild tacky consistency. I gently apply with the wood first near the close area to the sculpture part of the eyebrows hairs and proceed more wax with the white or blue plastic applicator in the area of the most unwanted hairs that needs to be removed. I apply a bit more heavy in that area because it helps when it's time to pull. So after the heavier application I let it dry. Next thing I do is get the wood and pick away the wax upward just a little. Enough to strip it off completely with my fingers. It takes most of the hair off and then I use the twizers and clean it up what was missed. It's must be a gentle process but, if done right there is no burns or mess ups. I have perfected the way I do it. And as usual it came out perfect. For those folks who burn themselves I would say you need to melt the wax and let it cool. Use both the wood and the blue or white applicator once the wax is mildly tacky because at that consistency its not too hot. If you try to use the blue or white applicator alone chances are you will take a chunk that you didn't mean to. So use the wood first near the sculpting part and then use the applicator for the remaining area. Follow these instructions and you won't go wrong with burns or mess ups. It's a great product and I will aways continue to buy it.

Used for years! Really great product but large learning curve.
I have been using this stuff for YEARS. I am an upper-middle class 30 something, but find it ridiculous to spend $$$ every few weeks to do my eyebrows. My hair grows fast and is very thick and dark, I needed something for clean up and get my brows shaped like once a year. You can get multiple uses out of this (I usually get three to four). Throw out the guide packet and the wooden stick - those do nothing. It used to come with mini tweezers and I’m sad it doesn’t anymore. You will need tweezers for leftover hairs. The wax takes forever to heat up the first time you use it. Put it in the microwave and heat in 30 second increments. You want the wax to make a pool of melted wax in the can. You want at least half of the wax to be melted. Sometimes you have to take the paddle and press into the wax and it’s nicely melted on the underside. Press in and melt some more. You need to be able to have access to a lot of wax and it hardens quickly in the pan. Prep the skin. Clean, no makeup. Use a spoolie and push up your brows so the underside (where I start) is clear of hairs you DONT want to wax. Take the paddle and dip it in to get a little chunk of wax. Rotate the paddle back and forth to kinda cool it, and you want to sort of “puddle” the wax on one side of the paddle. That puddle will be the puddle you drag across your eyebrow, starting inward and moving outwards. You use the puddle to get it closer to the brow itself but it gives you a bit more control to get it on the hairs you want, not the skin below the hairs. Forget the little “ready” word. It does nothing. Press the slightly sticky wax into your hairs just to make sure it’s on there. Let that dry, repeat on the other side. Your puddle will be on the opposite side of the paddle because when you bring your opposite hand up, that puddle is now meeting the underside of your brow. Press inwards to outwards. I rip my wax pieces and put all in the top of the lid, then dump all pieces into the trash. Put the lid back on and you’re good to go for a few more uses. Tips: the wax can be runny. I have definitely dripped wax onto my lashes and that was NOT FUN. Take your time but also be quick or it will drip. Try to leave or add some wax on the “end” of your wax smear, so you have something to grab and rip. Rip on one big motion, like you’re ripping your ex boyfriend out of your brain. Rip in the opposite direction of hair growth. Better to start small and get more confident. I’ve definitely waxed off half my brow before. Hope this helps! Xoxo

It's an "okay" product
I'm not a big wax user. I normally have someone else wax my eyebrows and that's about the extent of my usage. However the older I get the more hairs I've noticed on my upper lip. I decided to try this because it's a pretty good value compared to the others I've found online. The cons: It doesn't seem to capture all of the hairs. I am hesitant to user multiple times because my skin is very senstive. Not sure if its just me but the hair comes back FAST, like days later. I have to do this at least twice a week. The pros: It is easy on my sensitive skin. I have all kind of irritation on my eye brows after a waxing. Not the case here. Also that little bottle of lotion that comes with it is like a little miracle. I was originally going to give this 3 stars but that lotion along bumped it to four.

Reading Is Fundamental.
I have used this wax for I am guessing over twenty years. Whenever it hit the market. Outside a few packaging changes, it remains ond if my beloved beauty staples. There is definitely a learning curve. Before I begin, please read the entire package insert Let me share a few tips: #Test the wax on the back of your hand before you put it on your face. Even if it says ready. Every microwave is different, I warm mine up in 20 sec increments. I generally get it a little extra hot bc it cools down by the time I carry it to my bathroom, but we all have different lives. YMMV. #. You can't be in a rush. Time us of the essence and safety is key..If you don't live alone tell everyone to scram because you will have hot wax. Sequester your pets. Lock that bathroom door. Tight. #Cleab your face with astringent or alcohol. If it is hot, it you are sweaty, a little baby powder on your upper lip or chin helps it adhere # Brows: Draw them with the darkest pencil you have, even if it is eyeliner to be your guide. Brush them up and out. #Dont use any kind of acids, peels, scrubs, etc 24 hrs before you do this. You can exfoliate gently with a wash cloth like a half hour before to lift hairs, but honestly I prefer to shower after I do all this. #. Mustache .. there will always be that one hair. So keep tweezers handy, but don't dig. They you'll get a scab and yeah don't. # Pull your skin taut. #Eyebrows first, then worry about everything else. Don't get too fussy, you can tweak stuff later. # I'm going to be honest. You probably will play least once yank out a big spot or maybe go thinner. Don't cry. Be glad it is 2021 and there are thousands of eyebrow products. Make it lewk. With this in mind, I go low, by that I mean, go a tad lower than you think you want, and you can adjust w tweezers. # . I didn't listen to my mom, but you should listen to me. The more you yank all those brows out, the less they grow back. Then you end up buying $$$ serums. # If possible, do this at night. The swelling will go away. Definitely use the numbing cream. I recommend using a qtip to apply it. Alternatively, at least do it before your shower. And avoid those areas with serums etc. Wear sunscreen!! Once you are more comfortable doing this, you might find a qtip easier to use in your brow bone , but you need to make sure it is damp.

practically useless
I bought this to replace my Sally Hansen sugar wax, a product I've used for decades. I realized after following the instructions and heating it in the microwave, that it is not sugar wax at all. For a start the instructions tell you to heat it on high for 90 seconds. I thought, "wow, that's a long time, I usually only heat my previous wax for 10 seconds." Well, I should have listened to my gut. It smells terrible (like burnt wax!) and it was so hot, I had to wait for ages for it to cool. By the time it had cooled enough that the plastic spatula with "heat sensitive ink" told me it was safe to use, it had hardened too much. So I reheated it, using my own judgement this time, in 10 second increments. The spatula heat sensor is not accurate at all and the wax kept cooling too much. So, I had to risk burning myself to try it a little hotter. I didn't burn myself but I never quite got it hot enough to spread properly. It did not work. And unlike sugar wax, it does not dissolve in water, so there is no way to clean the spatula. You just have to wait for it to harden and try to break it off. It is messy and clumpy and did not work. I'm going to try to return it, though it's quite a mess now. The picture is the aftermath of my single attempt.

Didn’t know what to expect
As a slightly aging millennial I have begun to notice a little peach fuzzy above my upper lip and some gnarly chin hairs that would put some prepubescent boys to shame and I found myself looking for a way to remove all of this. Enter this easy, private hair removal from Sally. When I microwave, the whole tub doesn’t melt down evenly and even with aggressive stirring not everything wants to be included in helping me remove the evidence of possibly being recruited as the bearded lady in a side show. The little spatula that tells you if the wax is safe to not burn your skin off is cool and can handle trying to stir the thick hard wax but by the time it says it safe to use, I swear the wax is basically rehardened. It’ll take a hair or two off here and there but I feel like it doesn’t spread well in its “safe temperature” state and you better be ready to wax your hairs off in the reflection of your microwave cuz by the time you walk down the hall to the privacy of your bathroom half of the mixture has already given up on doing its job. So needless to say, looks like I’ll have to break out my big girl job dollars and just pay for some electrolysis or something instead of fighting with this tub of weird honey looking wax.

Perfect
I use to use this product all the time, but then I got hooked on threading. Nwo of course I can't get them threaded because of the plague, so I came looking for this exact kit. Works like a charm, exactly the same as I remembered it. Within twenty minutes of its arrival my brows were perfect. There is a learning curve if you've never used it before, read the instructions and do a practice patch on your arm before you go for the brow. I personally use aloe afterwards the "aftercare lotion" doesn't work for me, it gets a little itchy. (but my skin is very fussy, your mileage may vary.) Also even though this product DOES work fine without muslin strips, get some. It makes it ten times faster and easier to clean up after. It sets up pretty fast so have a strip ready to smooth over the wax before it sets up, wait a few minutes and then pull fast and flat to the skin back against the direction of the growth and you'll get a nice clean removal with minimal pain. After it's safe to go out again, I will probably return to my threader, because it's nice to have a little pampering and have someone else do it, but it's great to know you can still get this kit for an amazing price to have as a back up at home. I highly recommend this.
