A young infiltrator, Peter (Christien Anholt), is despatched by moral crusaders in Parliament to gather evidence for a private prosecution against fetish clubs operating all over Britain, where many of the saucier activities are illegal. From Peter's background as a virginal employee of the Holy Hardware computer company (motto: Log On To The Lord!), he is thrust into the sex glamour shock of these big fetish clubs and parties. Beautiful girls are there in abundance doing wicked things! The Member of Parliament, Henry Harding (Tom Bell), for whom Peter works, is delighted at the incriminatory evidence his protege soon gathers against the clubs. Peter, however, becomes infatuated with Tanya Cheex (Guinevere Turner), a sex goddess from New York and leader of the fetish club scene on both sides of the Atlantic. He wants her to calm down, become "normal", and avoid going to jail. She wants to pervert him. The question is, who will win? There follows a moral dilemma for Peter of whether to give evidence in court against the woman who both attracts and repels him. He wants desperately to have a conventional relationship, which means making love.... She loves him and is happy to play lots of games in bed but will never allow a mere man the pleasure of intercourse with her. Peter's journey as an innocent abroad is presented in an amusing, upbeat and as the adventure turns more bizarre, stylised way. Although some of the events portrayed in these clubs really do happen, this film is far removed from the traditional realism of British cinema. Review: Who ever said Love wasn't Painful?? - Preaching To The Perverted is a visually stunning foray into the bondage nightclub scene, with a surprisingly gentle and heart-warming love story behind it. The photography, costumes, cast, settings, effect, and music all combine into an exquisitely beautiful and erotic film. If you want dirty "spank me till I bleed" cinema, this is *not* your film. PTTP is a gorgeous visual delight with an industrial/club soundtrack and a lot of eye candy. There is beauty, love, humor, and yes...a bit of "strapped down" stimulation. Rather like a more risque Exit To Eden, with the stage beauty of All That Jazz. The Story? Young Peter, played by Christien Anholt (Marcellus in Mel Gibson's Hamlet and a bit part in Power of One) is recruited by Henry Harding (Tom Bell), member of Parliament who heads the United Front Opposing Filth. They send Peter into the heart of the sex and fetish clubs in order to gather evidence for prosecution in his campaign to shut down the industry. Peter is a fresh innocent, who surprisingly holds himself rather open-minded in his investigation. In the House of Thwax, he meets Dominatrix Tanya Cheex (played superbly by Guinevere Turner) who begins to gently introduce him into her world. Along the way, Peter finds himself attracted to Tanya, and realizes that he does not want for her to go to jail in Harding's prosecution. He must make a choice now, not only about the prosecution, but whether the clubs actually cause any harm to anyone. What I really liked about Peter was that in all he went through, he never lost his innocence, or his inner strength. He manages to stay steadfast in his beliefs and uncorrupted, while at the same time accepting the diversity of others. And while Tanya is the ultimate beauty with her own convictions; sassy and spirited and free, she learns that sometimes soft does not mean weak. This really is a great film. I laughed my butt off at the "horse and carriage" scene, I almost cried at the ending, and throughout the entirety of it, I gasped in pleasure at the overall beauty of it. This is human nature at its best, not its worst, and as long as you are not repelled by a many "northern orbital body" scenes and a few spankings, I think that you will agree that Preaching To The Perverted is a beautifully done masterpiece. Enjoy! Review: Mind Blowingly Awesome... Great Movie... The Best!!! - For those whom would really like to know just how deep and interesting the real world of BD/SM can and does go when you get outside of the public realms and into the darker, more serious aspects of the world, this is a great movie to help those not understanding of it, honestly see and understand more. I enjoy how they set up showing how someone not into the world stands out so clearly for those inside that world, and yet show how that very same world can end up changing you instead. I love this movie and have for many years since it came out and I saw it for the first time.

Preaching to the Perverted
Thanks for my DVD! It came on time, undamaged and I didn't have any trouble playing it. It was a very amusing romp into the the world of BDSM. It had some drama at play with motifs of self discovery, but a lot of comedy as well. Some of it reminded me of a musical number. All in all, a really good find.

Immerse in the perverse!
Not for nothing has the rep of this cult movie from Britain grown and grown, until now it is finally striking out in the States after a little grappling/groping with MPAA over its, er, saucier elements such as the infamous Relaxicisor scene (applied between Guin Turner's legs). It's more cartoonish and stylish than Secretary, but you really do get immersed into a world that most hardly know is there. A blasting dance music sound track and brilliant design, photography, costumes and direction make this a must for anyone interested in the offbeat. Girls especially love it because they stay on top throughout the film.

Gentle As A Lamb
Don't be fooled by the BDSM trappings of this movie. At heart it is a throwback to late 50s-early 60s Brit comedies like "The Family Way" - its subject matter may be ostensibly taboo, but its ultimate message is that love always triumphs over prudery and prejudice. This is a movie with genuine affection for all of its characters, even the ostensible villains, and a gentle, tolerant outlook on life. That's not to say that there isn't racy content here, but it is presented in a sweet, pastel-colored, aesthetically pleasing manner and, like an old-time burlesque performer, leaves the viewer with the impression that far more was revealed than actually was. There is virtually no nudity and the BDSM scenes are more comical than arousing. Devoutly religious, virginal Peter (Christian Anholt, a soft-looking pretty young fellow with a lanky carriage and sexy baritone voice that often, weirdly, reminded me of Clive Owen) is recruited by a conservative MP (reliable-as-always Tom Bell) to infiltrate a BDSM pleasure club called the House of Thwax to gather evidence in a case the Crown is hoping to be able to bring against dominatrix Tanya Cheex (the beautiful Guinivere Turner, known primarily for her groundbreaking work as a screenwriter in gay cinema and as a co-writer of the movie adaptation of "American Psycho"). In obtaining proof that harm is being inflicted, even consensually, the Crown hopes to close the club, which it blames for "moral blight". Peter of course gets "in over his head" in this endeavor, things go awry, and he faces a moral dilemma - the standard arc for this sort of farce. Now sixteen years old, the movie is certainly dated in many aspects, and has lost pretty much all of its once-considerable shock value to the Internet age. There is no chemistry between Anholt and Turner, and both are limited actors. Because Anholt's body language and voice reminded me so much of Clive Owen I kept thinking how much sexier the movie could have been if the part actually could have been played by Owen. Turner's performance was...strange. Her makeup, delivery and projection are all lifted wholesale from Divine in "Female Trouble". But in a movie this campy, these deficiencies just become part of the charm anyway. Its aim is to present a social justice agenda in a sugary, light-as-air dose with a tiny bit of bite at the finish. And it does just that.

I sought out this movie on dvd because it always stayed with me after I saw it many years ago. It is equal parts cheesy, sexy and fun. The dom in this movie is smoking!

There are few if any films of this genre which are of this calibre. british movies may be slated for being too "clever" but I think with P2TP Stuart Urban has hit the nail on the head (or should that be hit the slave on the ass?) as far as getting the balence right is conserned. The film centres around Tanya and Peter and the unusally life that they both lead. Tanya is an authority-defying performance-artist on the SM club scene in London and Peter is a volentere in parliament who has to go under cover to collect evidence for Henry Harding MP before Tanya can be convicted. As you can imagen the tension is high as the two develop a relationship the likes of which neither of them have experienced. For Tanya, Peter is the first man she has trusted as a friend in a long while and for Peter, well his eyes are only just starting to open to the delights and horrors which life with Tanya brings. Don't get me wrong though, apart from the odd nipple and some wonderfully loud orgasm scenes this is NOT a porno neither is it all that pervy, Stuart Urban once again finds the middle ground, giving you enough visual clues to know what is going on but he resists going to far and being vular. Humour can be found throughout P2TP, in the splashes of hot pink on almost every scene just to remind the viewer that this is NOT a documentary on the London SM scene but a movie whose sole purpose is to entertain. A wonderfull film with an amazing array of talent in the cast. Truly a cult film in the making but an enjoyable watch for all I have no doubt (although I am not sure I would watch it with my granny on a Sunday afternoon)

I saw this years ago on showcase and once I found it here I made sure to order it. Awesome clothes and makeup.

Feel a bit ripped off, it’s a rip copy (blue disk gave that away along with no holograms!) packaged and made to make you think it’s the real thing, until you get it out of the sealed packaging. Granted it’s a 90’s film but even then the quality isn’t great, oddly the extras is a better film quality. Shame it’s a great film, and a cult classic.

Was recommended by a friend so I made the purchase. This is one of the few stores that still sell it anywhere worldwide. Purchase it. They deliver. And plays in my UK DVD player too.
